Return to DiscussionsI grew up in the 90s. We still had community showers. They made us start to shower in the 5th grade. I went to a country school but it still had many kids per class. You were made to shower and the gym teacher watched. If you had fun last period of the day the gym teacher would strip and shower with the class. Swim classes were separate. Boys attended class naked. The swim teacher was naked too. On the day parents were allowed to visit and watch classes being conducted only men were allowed in to watch the swim class.
My school(s) had communal showers (separated by gender, of course) for after gym and sports too. No pool at the school, so no swimming at all, much less nude. Being in the middle of the bible belt at the time, I can't imagine that nude swimming would have been allowed.
I remember being at primary school 9-11 getting the coach to go swimming each week, we all had to shower together and the was always present.
Moved up to secondary school 11-16 and just the boys had to shower together after swimming and games. More often than not the teacher would be there.
I wasnt a fan of the showers, dont get me wrong being naked was great but I was rather a late bloomer, all the other lads had hair and had grown a lot.
