Unoccupied Office Buildings

Return to Discussions

The weather was so nice yesterday, I went for a walk at lunch. I was really feeling the need to get naked and enjoy the nice weather, but I had no place to go. There are a couple of unoccupied office buildings not too far from my own office. I scoped out a couple of locations where I could not be seen and seriously contemplated stripping off and lying out in the sun for a bit, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Started thinking about the consequences of getting caught (trespassing, indecent exposure, etc.) and it wasn't worth it. It was a shame. Such a lovely day and I wasn't intending to do anything lewd or lascivious. Just wanted to enjoy a few minutes outside in nature. Anyone else had similar thoughts and actually gone through with it?

I live in a rural area, so there are plenty of places I can get naked during the day, but no unoccupied office buildings.

When I was working in Massachusetts, I realized that the electrical substation at the edge of the company's parking lot was actually pretty private. It was on a patch of land that still had trees, so you could walk past the substation fence back into the small patch of woods, and be hidden from view. I spent a few lunch breaks sunbathing there in the nude once I figured that out.

We used to visit my wife's college office every time she'd get a new one and arrange furniture and decorate. As soon as it was safe to close her door, I'd strip off and work naked hanging pictures, arranging furniture, arranging files and such. We'd sit on the floor and have lunch. She was usually dressed in a sundress and flip flops and would almost always keep it on because she was always leaving to go to the dept. office for supplies or ask the secretary something.
I remember once, someone came to the door while she was gone and knocked on it. I had to slip on my shorts and t shirtand then answered the door. It was one of her female colleagues. Just as I was about to tell this person who I was and why I was in my wife's office, my wife walked up and introduced us. The look on my wife's face was priceless when she saw this colleague at her office door and the door open. She thought ... "Oh my god ... she caught him naked!" After the colleague left my wife quizzed me for 5 minutes about what I did when the colleague knocked on the door. :D

I was given the privelege (job) of settling a large new space in a mostly unoccupied campus building a year before the rest of my department moved in. I did have a few opportunities to work nude in my office that year but was very judicious about when, because any of the other faculty who might be dropping over would have brought a key to the space. Even tho my office wasn't in view of the entrance door I had to have my ears cocked so I could dress quickly if needed. It was fun anyway, and I never had to greet anyone with fly unzipped and tucking in a shirt that was buttoned wrong...The vagaries of being a nudist in a clothed world.

When I was the house detective of the Omni Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati, I had the keys to the kingdom so to speak, and would go up on the roof nude on occasion at night.

At a previous work location, there is a roof patio open to employees. I noticed that one could go through a low fence and travel around the various air conditioning units on the roof until one was completely hidden by walls and equipment from the patio. I thought about doing some nude sunbathing there, but never worked up the nerve :-)

I've done similar things but not for a long time now. Used to work
in an office where my employer was out of town a lot, it'd be
fun stripping at work when nobody was around. Also stayed in a hotel one time, went
down the stairwell to a hallway just off the lobby, then back
up again, walking along corridors on several other levels in the
process.. .

With all those video surveillance cameras out there now, I'm not
sure if I'd still be as daring. There's a stretch of the main
street where I live, thought it might be fun to go naked there very
early morning sometime. Learned there are security cameras going 24
hours a day covering every stretch of sidewalk as well as parking
areas and beyond. Supposedly someone in the Police Station is
viewing those cams all day and all night. Perhaps he/she might
enjoy the free show of a naked man running around Main Street, but
I think it'd be foolish to attempt it.

Although security cameras are scary they are almost all simply
recorded and only looked at after an incident to get evidence.
If you think about it, there are now so many of the damn things
around that it would be impossible to monitor them all in real
time.

The only exception that I know about is car park cameras where they
are monitored by computer programs which can distinguish between
the movement of people going to and from their cars normally and
other people movements, particularly the different movement
patterns of car thieves.

In our old building I used to work late regularly (I.T. and old fashioned mainframes). I (we) were upstairs and totally safe.
Our new building is a triangular glass structure with open plan and a mezzanine balcony open for all to see from the showroom.
Having said that, I VERY rarely work late now as (a) we no longer have the old slow mainframe and (b) I have a life away from work :-)

This thread also got me thinking: there's so much unoccupied office space in otherwise occupied buildings, even in my own building. Wouldn't it be nice if one could use that space to relax nude? Someone should create a nudist AirBnB app to link up people with unoccupied space. It could even be metered; just pay for the space you use for the time you use it. I wish I had paid better attention in computer class!
