in SF what a riot despite the fact that it is somewhat common you still get a few priceless shocked expressions

Yes California is a funny place, on the one hand you can be nude in many places without worry, and on the other they will arrest you for the same thing.
That sounds great to me, I have driven nude and enjoyed it, however, when I lived in the UK their was a couple of large forested areas that I would walk nude for hours. I found it very exciting and did get caught more than once, it was never a problem though and was never threatened. One elderley lady even stopped me for a chat, she thought hat it was great that she had actuall met a naked man while walking, of course when I first bumped into her I tried to cover up. But she said don't worry and went on to say that she had no problem with nudity, much to my releif I have to say.
I've driven nude a few times. Once was a short drive through New Mexico on the interstate. About a year ago I drove through Pennsylvania on the interstate at night thinking I would be descrete, but halfway through the drive I came upon road construction with all traffic crammed into one lane. Even though there were bright construction lights everywhere, and a state trooper, no one seemed to even notice me. I haven't been nude driving since, but maybe I'll try it again this summer.
The best nude drive was from the garage in FLorida to home in Chicago. Only getting dressed to buy gas, food and restrooms stops. Other times are frequent and fun. Have never worried about being stopped, just try to obey the laws.
