My wife and I just recently came back from our trip in Florida. We are considering relocating there. We prefer the beaches and low waves of the west coast but unfortunately there are no official nude beaches there.
We went to both Honeymoon Island and Caspersen beach to check out.
We walked near the northern tip of Honeymoon island, got naked and swim. We did this rapidly since it was quite busy and timed it.
It's quite different from Santa Cruz county in California where there is not much trouble being naked at a beach that is non-official. In fact, pretty much all of them are non-official but nobody cares much.
Seems it might not be the case there so we were weary of shocking people walking. If we knew they didn't care or liked it, we would not have bothered covering up. I know/heard that the rangers are ticketing nude people if they check the area so another layer of "stress"
How often do you local folks go to Honeymoon island? (Ironically, we found one other guy at Honeymoon island who got naked and we went talking to him only to find out he is visiting and he lives in .... California)
We are considering the possibility that once we move, we would get a boat and go to Anclote island just north of Honeymoon island - to swim naked and nude sunbathe. Is that also an option you locals do?

As for Caspersen, we saw one guy naked when we walked there, so we setup camp about 50 yards South of him but we didn't talk to him. He seem like a local guy. The beach is wider there (20 to 30 yards), but not as beautiful as Honeymoon island. It is wide enough that even though there was some folks walking on the beach, they were near the shore while we were near the edge, so far enough not to disturb the walkers.
But wonder how frequently it is being used. We only visited it once.
If there was an official nude beach on the west coast, our goal would be set- it would be the west coast of Florida.
