Since most of the shorts being sold are too long for my taste, I end up altering them to a more satisfactory length. My most comfortable shorts are those which started life as sweatpants.

In answer to the second post the perfect length for me is about one inch below the tip of my penis when it is totally flaccid and shrunken.
This preserves perfect modesty when needed but allows plenty of air and freedom to peep out when wanted.

It doesn't happen very often and usually only when I am happy to be exposed.
Most are mid-thigh (considered short these days) and I only wear underwear for infrequent business occasions.
Mid thigh is generally best for me.
Since I don't wear underwear, I have some that are a little above the knee when more coverage is necessary.
I recently found some great elastic waist trunks with pockets at Walmart. They are designed as swimwear with some bright fun patterns, but also had some great solid colors. 5 inch inseam is perfect and the liner removed before the first wearing. I do have to be careful when sitting that I don't show my balls . But it's a small price to pay for the comfort. And they were only 6 dollars each. I bought six pair and tossed out six pair of old long shorts. The material is very thin and lightweight.

5" is my minimum and I prefer ones that are fairly snug on the thigh to minimize accidental exposure.
Did you keep any longer shorts for less casual situations?
Recently bought two pairs of medium gray open leg sweatpants. One pair I shortened a few inches and the other I made into mid-thigh shorts. While wearing the shorts for the first time yesterday, my wife remarked she could see I wasnt wearing underwear and I was circumcised.
