In search of short jeans shorts... Impossible ?
Return to DiscussionsWhen I was a child, maybe 10 or 12 years old, I had a short jeans shorts that I loved.
Now that Im 37, of course I dont have it anymore.
But I was searching for some really short jeans shorts, like a 2 or 3 inch inseam maximum. Its kind of impossible mission.
I do have a Levis 514 that I cut but its having a 4 inch inseam. And its at the limit of the pockets. Would love smaller pockets to have shorter shorts.
Any idea where to find those ? Does it even exist still ?
Seems like the norm is minimum had way to the knees, or just above the knees.
Im a freeballer full time now, and for summer would love an real short jeans shorts not homemade cut but with the true jeans finish.

Back in the 70s, having cutoffs that were short enough for the bottom of the front pockets to show was fairly common.

My wife has a sewing machine which she encourages me to use. I have hemmed both jeans and jean shorts using jeans thread, which is easy to find where thread is sold. If you take your jeans to a seamstress or tailor, make sure they do real jean hems. Some cut the original hem, shorten the jeans/shorts, and reattached the original hem. Not good.

I know its common for girls these days. But for guys not sure. But things are changing. Will probably be a fashion again one day.

This is nice.
We dont have one. But even then, I know one limit for cutting is also the back pockets. These are big. And if you want a short inseam, you may have to cut these pockets too.
I go to the resale shop to find shorts; They have old shorts which are baggy and shorter than those sold in stores today. I also go commando everyday and you have to be careful how you sit. If you are not careful, you might see a full moon if you get my point.

I was in the Chicago area a few weeks ago. And it took me some time to go to the grocery store with it.
Was nice. Freeballing of course. Got some look, especially from two employees. Was late in the night, so no crowed.
I broke a jeans during that trip and made it super short too. Barely 1in inseam. Cut the pockets.
On the back its at the level of the pockets.
While flaccid, its just covering. Of course seating offers a huge view. Was wondering if dressed with it going to the store I can be in trouble as long as everything is covered.
Why I like short shorts ? You truly feel naked underneath. And you got the air running easily.

You don't like the look of front pockets hanging out below the bottom of the shorts?
