Reluctance to get rid of underwear

Return to Discussions

I have seen people post here and elsewhere that they never or rarely wear it but don't want to get rid of it.
Why?
If you change your mind later, most of us could afford to buy a few pair.
I will admit to more than getting rid of my last pair and then changing my mind when I had an upcoming doctor's appointment and buying one.
The last time I bought 3 because I read somewhere that extremely short shorts for men would be popular the next summer.
I decided at the time that it would be worth wearing underwear again to be able to wear shorts with a 2" or so inseam without worrying about accidental exposure in an inappropriate setting.

I seldom wear underwear but still have a few pair.

I stopped wearing underpants around thirty years ago. However, I didn't get rid of it right away. More laziness, than deliberate choice. It's not as if it were occupying valuable real estate that was needed for something else. At this point, I don't even remember when I got rid of at and what I did with it. I just don't have it anymore. Why would a doctor's appointment bear any relevant on this subject? Your doctor doesn't care whether you wear underpants. At a regular appointment, I've never had the doctor ask me to remove any clothing -- so, he''d have no idea whether I'm wearing underpants or not. For a physical, I'm nude when he walks into the room anyway -- so, again, underpants are totally irrelevant.About a year and a half ago, I was in the hospital for four days. I don't remember the exact situation, but someone (a nurse or something) asked me something about underpants. I said I didn't have any on. Got a puzzled look in response. I said: I don't wear underpants. Even that didn't quite register. I said: I down own any underpants -- I don't wear them. She said something like: Well, you must be pretty brave to not wear underpants in the hospital. I asked: What's brave about it? I don't own or wear underpants. She never did say what she thought the problem was. No one else ever said anything about it. How could it possibly matter.

My dermatologist always tells me to strip to my underwear and after he has checked everywhere else, he peeks inside it. I have told him that I get sun where most people don't.

He says, "Strip to your underwear because most people wear underwear. If he said that, you took your shirt and pants off, and were nude (because you don't wear underwear), it would not be an issue. My dermatologist always tells me to strip to my underwear and after he has checked everywhere else, he peeks inside it. I have told him that I get sun where most people don't.

You may be right but when I see how he acts when he checks inside my underwear, even though he knows I sun nude, I have my doubts.

I am like you minimalist. The reactions /body language of several doctors over the years has lead me to put on boxers when going to the doctor Anymore. Bout the only use I have for drawers, other than used as shorts when outside around delivery time or mowing the front lot. I have found running shorts that are more comply now. I pitched the tighty whities 30 years ago and cant remember the last time I bought boxers, they last quite a while when worn a few times a year. No need to pitch them, Ill just use them up.

I just can not believe it - Minimalist owns some underwear!!!!!

The medics may express surprise but they have seen many naked bodies already. And that dermatologist just isn't doing his (or her) job properly if they just peak inside. The urologist at the local hospital is a woman and she's probably handled more penises than the average hooker.

I ditched all my underwear when I decided not to wear them any more. I tore the first pair off myself and then cut the rest up.

What's the problem if parts accidentally fall into view when wearing very short shorts. They are sold with a modesty lining which I always cut out. Then I ditched the shorts in favour of kilts (some very short) and wraps. Men are not expected to wear anything under them, even on a windy day.

One pair that only gets worn 2 or 3 times a year.

Underwear is a good thing. They protect one from the rough inside of one's jeans. I truly love the feeling of being nude & hanging freee, but no underwear inside regular trousers or denims is simply uncomfortable! Cotton boxers, or nude for me!

Lucky for me, wearing denim without underwear isnt rough. Might be due to liking my denim to be washed and thereby soft.

I go for one size larger trousers than I need so they aren't tight against my skin and, it feels much more comfy also I think I had only one set of jeans or did only try them as I hated the feeling of them on my skin and that was years before my freeball days.

I have a couple of pairs in a bottom of a draw where all the cloths live which only come out once in a blue moon and I can't be bothered finding them out to get get rid of them and so most likely will remain there unless I move and all the cloths are removed from the draw and chucked out to save moving them.
