Return to DiscussionsI was at Cactus Canyon 10 years ago when I lived in St Louis, it was nice enough then but has not kept up as the place to go to down there. Dawg Woods about a half hour south of Pevely MO is the new place to go to, it's much better with small cabins & a nice pool.
I heard it is a great place. Huge area and nice people. Has anyone camped there? I heard the 4th of July is a blast up there. Anyone plan on going?
I went there about a year ago. It was early in the season so there weren't too many guys there. But they were really nice and the owner visited with me a few times at lunch (he was the cook too those days), so I got a bit of history of the place. The place is vast. Meadows and woods, tent camping, RVs, etc. All of the men that I met said that holiday weekends are amazing, and that they were sorry that I wouldn't get to experience that. So yes, you heard right. Maybe one day.....
