GEORGIA USA Nudists

This group is for all those nudists who live in Georgia (like me!), or visit Georgia, or have any connection to the state. I noticed there are state groups for other states but none for our great state, "the empire state of the south."

Bell Acres - No longer a nudist resort:(

Return to Discussions

FYI, I found out that Bell Acres is no longer a nudist resort by going there and them telling me first hand. Kind of sad since I have never been and the pool and trails looked nice. One less place to go around Atlanta:(

Are you serious?
When the hell did this happen?
Their 'official' Facebook page stops around August 2021.

They haven't changed their website in full yet, although the front page doesn't push the nudism aspect.

Nothing mentioned on the blog and it appears to be dated to 2021

...I can't find much of anything else online to show their changes.
Not much has changed on its TN page, even a review from September 2021 says it was still c/o slash nudist then

I'm very sorry to hear that they did. I only went once, my very first time trying naturism, in 2006, on a day pass with a free visit on a Monday.
Nobody else was there, I checked in, after a bit went bottomless then finally full-nude. The pool wasn't open and the hot tub wasn't working, so I mostly walked the trails, sat in the swing and read a book, just got used to the feeling and idea of being able to do it all naked out in the open and with the thought of others there.

I left late that evening without seeing the owners (managers?) again and saw no one else that day either. But I thought the place was pretty nice.

That is a real shame but sadly not surprising. I've been several times over the years and they never had a a sizable crown when I've been there. A year or 2 ago I went on national skinny-dip day and there were maybe a dozen people at the pool. (I even went up for a couple of their 7pm Meetup invitations when they had a group and they were super light.) The office manager mentioned that there were quite a few roadworks guys in the trailer camping area but none of them came out to the pool/clubhouse. So they've been moving towards a trailer/camping park for a while. It's definitely sad to see it go away though. I'm glad to have heard about before making a trip up to Commerce though.

Bummer. Not a whole lot of choices left in Georgia.

Serendipity is nice, I go there when I get a chance though distance, time and money are factors.

Mountain Grove is supposedly more swinger-oriented.
Paradise Valley accepts single males but has high cost for entry if not the Fig Leaf 5k, plus they tend to be more "frisky" in the evenings.
Native Woods down near Jekyll Island is there, rustic but nudist.

So, I heard they were no longer a nudist resort, but i thought they still considered themselves a naturalist resort, where it might be clothing optional in areas. No?

Hi, new to this site and Bell Acres was my first nudist resort. Serendipity is definitely my favorite, but I still came back to Bell Acres a couple more times because it has it's own charm.

Recently heard the rumor that a local resort was disappearing and I guess this was it. When I was looking to go back to a resort (haven't been since COVID started) I saw Bell Acres' website lists them now as a 21-and-up place, which I find very strange. I guess it's a swinger place now or something.

Unfortunately it is true as I just confirmed it with Marie over the phone as this had been my resort of choice because it was the closest to me. I suspect that the explosive growth of the Commerce GA area due to huge battery factory led the owners to figure they could attract a lot more monthly/long term residents as a textile RV campground rather than a naturist resort.
If all you care about is a place to socialize and sun, there are two gay campgrounds (In the Woods and River's Edge) and as mentioned there is Serendipity Resort outside Cleveland.
