For information about schedules and fares, about the new weekend
bus service to
Rooster Rock here is the webpage with the
information.

The bus service is NOT part of Trimet, but is provided by ODOT, so
the cost is in addition to any Trimet fare you may have paid.
NOTE: After ori9gihnally posing this, I decided to try out the shuttle, an d as it turns out, as of Friday, July 15, they have increased service and run more often, but they have no printed or internet version of the new schedule yet. Also, if you go to Rooster Rock, on the return trip you may need to take the shuttle to Multnomah Falls to catch a shuttle back. From the falls they have two shuttles, one that just lopps between Rooster Rock and the Falls, and the other that leaves vound for Gateway. However, if the shuttle leavign for Gateway completely fills up at thye fralls they wont' bother stopping at Rooster Rock as they cant' pick anyoenup anyways, so you may need to first shuyttle to th eFallls and then grab the Gatwaay shuyttle from there. I left Rooster Rock intendign to take the 4:53 shuttle back, but it bypassed Rooster Rock. If it is particularly crowded at the Falls you may wait quite a while at Rooster Rock for a Gateway shuttle that has se3ats open and stops at Rooster Rock. Oh Holidays they will run full size buses instead of the small shuttle buses.
On headign out the firs shuttel was full and i could nto get on and so I waited half an horu for ht enext shuttle.
The driver I talked to says they are still working out schedules and service, and there is talk about next year running a shuttle all the way to Hood River and possibly some trail heads in between.

Anyway, for me it woudl be quicker to to just take the bus to the Troutdale Oulets and then ride my bike to Rooster Rock and back to Troutdale to take th ebus back.
Oh yeah, one important piece of info. The only charge or time you pay is leavign Gateway. If you get a ride out you can ttake the shuttle back to Gateway for free. At lest at present, this may change at some point.

Great info! Rooster Rock is looking good this week. Water level is down and all paths are above water and dry. The water is warming up nicely. Spent all day Thursday there, had a great time as did many others!
