Jun 16 - World Naked Bike Ride Portland -

Return to Discussions

The World Naked Bike ride s a scheduled as a part of Pedalpalooza, a three week long series of bicycle related events. For the full series of events do a Google seach for Pedalpalooza
The World Naked Bike ride is also an event that moves to various cities around the world year round, as a protest of our dependence on oil. I am told it is also a lot of fun. The local nudity laws for Portland are suspended for this event. So, even if you don't want to ride you can probably hang out nude along the route if you really wanted to. For more info go to

I have looked and cant' seem to find a route map. However here is a link to where they are going to meet. It is on the SE side.

They start to gather around 9PM and the ride starts at 10PM.
If anyone finds a route map on line please post it here. Thanks.
As of this posting, on June 08, the long term weather forecast is favorable for that weekend of June 16.

So far no definition of the route.

I am planning to be there, but also will be going to the Sunny Ride II, another nude ride in the afternoon.
Unfortunately due to poor vision that makes it unsafe for me to drive or ride a bike, I'll only be able to be a spectator, unless I come across someone with a tandem and an empty seat.
I hear there is also a naked dance party after the WNBR. I'd be concerned about what to do with my clothes and valuables. If anyone here goes, please post how it was handled so that people who don't go out of concern for their valuables will be less hesitant and more likely t go next year.
The group is here to share information, so post about upcoming events and also post about events you went to and how things went, as things will likely be similar for people next year.

RE: Jun 16 - World Naked Bike Ride Portland -

I rode in the Portland WNBR this year (2012). It was my first ride and an awesome liberating experience. I went with two friends, and laughed the whole night. We're already planning to ride next year, and I have at least one more friend who plans to join us.The route is not published out of concern for problems with observers, or so they said. That didn't stop thousands of people from lining the route on both sides of the street, giving high-fives to the riders. A number of them of both sexes had shirts up or off, and pants down around the ankles, or were completely naked. Anyone even half bare got my high-five if I could get to them. The ride started by crossing the Hawthorne bridge, traveled 4th street through downtown, crossed the Burnside bridge, went south on 33rd and zagged over to Cesar Chavez, then ended with the big long downhill on Hawthorne. What a ride I'll never forget! Sadly, I missed the Pants Off Dance afterwards.
