Ever done labyrinth work?

Return to Discussions

A labyrinth is not a maze, despite the word frequently being misused that way. A labyrinth is a meditation tool; you walk meditatively from the entrance to the center and back again, following all the twists and turns. I have done labyrinth work at key junctures in my life when I felt I needed key insights, and I always come out knowing more than I did going in.

The insights gained in a labyrinth might be highly personal, and not necessarily able to be shared with or explained to others. In my case, some of the things I learned would be considered unacceptable by large portions of the faith community. Rather than share them here, and risk casting my pearls before swine, I instead merely ask for general thoughts on labyrinth work, both by those who have done it, and those who have not.

I'm interested, how did you get started on labyrinths? Do you walk them? Meditate on scripture? Or other things?
