How to deal with it?

Return to Discussions

Im a nudist but my wife isnt. She accepts that Im a nudist but we have a problem lol. Its winter here now and being a nudist I get a little chilly in the house so I like to turn the heat up a couple degrees. Shes on the couch with pants and a hoodie on. She fusses at the heat being too high and tells me if Im cold to go put some clothes on. Just curious if anyone else has this problem?

Used to have that. After some time, my ex decided I was OK and she even went to a clothing optional resort a number of times where she met some nice friends. I do some "donald ducking" at times. One day we should meet to chat about this.

I don't want to pay for enough fuel to keep the house warm enough to be nude in the winter.
We also keep it around 76 in the summer. My wife is rarely nude at home and usually on the cold side, s temperature she is comfortable in long PJs and a light robe and I am fine in nothing.

I have a wood-burning stove to keep the house warm. The target temperature is 75 degrees (24 C), but the house seldom gets that warm in the winter.
I have a propane furnace as a back up. It comes on at 65 degrees (18 C).

Expense is relative. My sister has a propane fireplace and electric baseboard heat.
She runs the fireplace a lot because it is cheaper to operate.

Wow, what a difference.Expense is relative. My sister has a propane fireplace and electric baseboard heat. She runs the fireplace a lot because it is cheaper to operate. Here, propane is much more expensive that electricity. When I lived where I had natural gas, it was way less expensive than electricity. In my experience, propane has always been the most expensive.

The way it looks everyone has their own way. I keep the temp. set about 75 degrees year round. That way she's not too hot and I'm not too cold in the winter.

You suggest that she change into shorts and a t shirt,

I'm not married and live alone but often have guests who are clothed so I want the house temperature to be comfortable for everyone. I'm fortunate to live in an area where it doesn't get too cold but if it is, I put on a long sleeve T shirt. I'm also concerned with high energy bills so even if I'm alone, I'll put on a T shirt rather than turn the heat up. Regardless of temperature, I CANNOT sleep with ANYTHING on so if it's cold, I just add a blanket to the bed.

I would put a shirt on but still walk around nude. We do not have central heat here so we just have to suck it up in winter or put on a space heater. But I am sure you definitely sleep nude...that is the best thing ever.
