I Remain Nude When Guests/service P

This group is for ALL fellow nudists whom remain nude, regardless of who visits the home. Personally, I have always remained nude for every guest and visitor to my home, including neighbors, plumbers, cable and telephone techs., Fedex, UPS, food/pizza delivery, and many more. It's every nudists right to be nude when at home. Why cover up? Please feel free to share your experience.

Hired a handyman and was nude in front of him

Return to Discussions

I hired a handyman to do a couple things around the house. It ended up being a 2 day project. I answered the door in just tennis shoes. He looked at me and smiles. I told him I was a nudist and he didn't seem to care. It was the first time I did something like that and it was very exciting.

Our various service people (plumbers, exterminators, electricians, etc) have never had an issue with our nudity. But our driveway has a sign on it advising we are clothing optional and that visitors may see nudity. Everyone seems to just take it in stride.

I am a heating and air conditioning repairman, and I've never had a nudist client answer the door naked. Other than on the occasions where I am working for nudist friends where we already know each other to be nudists before hand. Now, I've seen all kinds of crazy shit in people's homes, but never a naked person answering the door. So, either it never happens or maybe people don't want to even try with me because they value getting their heat/air fixed more than potentially risking running me off. I dunno.

Conversely, I've never answered my door nude either. And I dunno... part of me thinks there is a consent issue at play here. Like, being an in-home services provider puts you in a lot of crazy and stressful circumstances. While any one of us reading this post wouldn't have a problem with a nude person greeting them, you don't really know what the guy at the door thinks or how that's going to affect their day. They aren't going to automatically assume "friendly/harmless nudist"... they are more likely to assume aggressive, creepy, lech. Sure, you can ask, and they will probably say it's okay, but how empowered are they to protest, really? There's a power dynamic between customer and service provider that makes this all problematic. If I get up and leave because I'm not okay with something, well, I loose a customer, income, and wasted time traveling there and back, etc. You can't really afford to do that sometimes. All I can say is that when I've experienced those fight or flight situations at work ... it definitely takes a toll on you. And I don't think I want to add that to another person's plate either.

Personally, I think it would be super cool for someone to just answer the door and carry on as if there is nothing unusual about the situation... they don't apologize for, ask permission, or make up some dumb excuse like "oh, sorry about this, I was just getting out of the shower." Just own it and carry on like it's normal.. because it is. But, I'm fully aware that is likely just me and the very small percentage of nudists out there. It is fun to think about tho. What I have done is sought out nudist service providers. So, I've had handymen, painters, and house cleaners who are nudists and it's all arranged ahead of time. That's more my speed.

I've thought for years there ought to be a specialty phone book where people can list.themselves or find professionals relative to nudity. I think people involved in creating such ac thing should reqlly make a push to have powcwows with management at a wide array of mainstream businesses and try to see if they might make a point of broaching the subject with their staff and new hires to quickly determine if some or all are ok with it (for deliveries or repair work or what have you) so that it would be easier to call any number if businesses on anybgoven day to see if they have anyone on duty available to do "xyz". If we got management of businesses in the habit of already pre-screening employees like that and being aware of it then it would be less awkward and faster to find service that way. And if there is no one for stuff like repairs when you call, you could schedule appointments...._"our naked bfriendkyvgiy isn't here today, but will be back on Thursday" or whatever.

I would so much rather hav all that discussed and settled long before opening the door

Nicely said! Completely agree with your post.

At our club, there's a bulletin board with various services provided by members of the club. Thus, you can assume that they are also nudists and wouldn't mind if you were naked while they performed their services. Like most service providers, they'd most likely ask, "how'd you hear about our services?" If you said, "I'm a member of ... club/resort and found your card on the bulletin board, " they could also assume you're a nudist since you visited and got their card from that board.

We've not had any nudist service providers come to our home, that we know of. Would I prefer a nudist service provider? Not necessarily. I prefer getting someone that has good references and reviews. Not to say that the nudist service provider isn't great but them simply being nudists would not sway my decision to hire.

I prefer being naked anywhere and everywhere but even I have my limitations as to whom I will expose myself to. I would not purposely open the door naked for someone visiting to perform work. They aren't expecting it and it's not right to do that to anyone not expecting it, just because it's your house. I/we prefer to error on the side of caution and respect. That being said, I'd love for some of these service providers to post affiliations or members of, on the websites and if I see an AANR or TNS logo, that's a plus! ;DDD

I own a DJ service and handyman service and advertise with AANR & TNS in my advertisement that way ppl know that all nudist can feel free to be bare or clothed my services can also be requested in the natural or in clothing. That has been a plus for me when nudist like myself are needing a home service.

RE:Hired a handyman and was nude in front of him

A couple of years ago, I began letting service people know that I'm a nudist while I'm scheduling the appointment. When they arrive and see me nude they have no complaints. I have not had anyone refuse to provide service because I am a nudist.

The worst that has happened (and it's extremely minor) was the guy who came out to determine why my furnace wasn't working. I told him I was a nudist. Although he hesitated, he said it would be ok. When he got here, didn't merely avert his gaze, he wouldn't even face in my direction -- kept his back to me the whole time. Keep in mind, I don't hang around and get in the way. But I did need to go out there while he explained what was wrong and what needed to be done. He did this with his back to me. When I paid him, he did have to turn around but he mostly keep his gaze VERY high.

For the vast majority, they obviously don't care all at -- my nudity is a total non-issue. Including, piano tuner, plumber, well/pump repair, dishwasher installer (before I was informing in advance), washing machine repair (before I was informing in advance), propane delivery, countless delivery drivers, and others.
