It has reopened recently and will let single men go without being an AANR member. You can check it out on their webstire

I've always wanted to visit there, but just haven't had the chance yet. Also, Prairie Haven sounds like a great place, too. Thanks.

Lake Edun is great. I spent pretty much an entire summer there in 2008. Great swimming and beach area, hiking trails, camping spots. It's been probably 5 years since I was last there. Looking at going back this summer though. The last 5 years have been crazy busy though and its a bit of a drive for me now that I don't live in the area anymore.

Well I took the plunge. I spent a day (and night) at Lake Edun.

Sadly the better half has decided that she wants no part of the social
aspect of the naturist lifestyle that we both enjoy inside and outside of
our rural home. I wish it were otherwise, but it's her decision to make.
She is however, fully supportive of my desire to pursue more of the the
naturist experience. Though I would love to share that experience with her,
I am still a lucky man.

It had been a while since I had taken a motorcycle trip so I thought this
would be a perfect way to combine that with a stop at Lake Edun. I sent
them an email to confirm that a singe male is welcome there, and that I
could camp overnight. After a prompt affirmative response to both
questions I made my plan. After a few days wandering the north - east
part of the state, I found myself riding through the gate at Lake Edun.

The fact that it was a Thursday afternoon meant that there were very few
people there, Which really was part of my plan, this being my
first time visiting a place where what seems so natural with just the two
of us on our property is also the norm.

I got checked in by the very helpful caretaker, and got a tour of the
place. I then packed all of my gear in to my chosen campsite. That task
would have been much easier if someone... anyone would have had a key to
the gate that was near the campsite.

I guess the best word to describe the place would be "rustic". Not to be
negative at all, because it was a good experience, but looking at the
infrastructure, it seems that it's hey-day may have been sometime in the
past. The RV area shown on their map has not been accessible for some
time, and it was also behind a locked gate that no one has a key for.
Having said that, since I am subscribed to their email newsletter, I
understand that there is new leadership, and they are making an attempt to
bring back the golden days.

The few folks that were there were friendly, approachable and welcoming.
More than one person made sure that I had the gate combo since I was
essentially being locked in alone for the night. Yes, by evening I had the
entire place to myself. I also took that as a conveyance of trust, that a
visiting stranger was welcomed and trusted to that level.

A definite downside in my circumstance was that I had to pay for two
calendar days just to camp overnight. Due to the fact that I was on a
motorcycle I was on the road by 7:00 the next morning to beat the heat of
the day. That made it a pretty expensive tent site. Had I been in a car
with AC I would have stayed awhile the second day to make it worth the cost.

If I were to give a couple tips to anyone thinking of visiting Lake Edun,
one would be to bring insect repellent... lots of it. No fault of the
place, that's just the way it is in a wooded area with water.
And secondly bring footwear suitable for walking. The trails around
the lake were awesome though soggy in places from the recent rains.

I am going back tomorrow, (8-3-19) so I guess that speaks for itself.
I may even consider doing a bit of volunteer work there for a membership
discount.
