light weight kilt

I am a nudist who lives in Palm Springs California. while I am always naked whenever I can get away with it, clothes are sometimes needed. I love kilts for the personal freedom I feel while wearing it, commando off course. trouble is, most kilts are very heavy, have way too much material. does someone make a kilt that is light weight and minimal in material used so it is still a kilt but something that can be minimalist ?
pics most welcome.

My husband and I are also looking for light weight kilts. I own a great, black utilikilt, which I love, but it is somewhatheavy, esp for spring/summer/fall desert living.Moving to Phoenix and would enjoy having light weight kilts to enjoy there.

I have learned to make my light weight kilts. Not that hard to do.

Tartanista do 10oz 5yard kilts in acrylic. That's about as light as they get. I've go two, a forest green, and a St Patrick tartan. They're not great if it's windy, but much cooler that wool, or polyviscose kits.

Why not try a lightweight cotton wrap. I often wear one when having to cover up in warm climates. My favourite is a chiffon scarf. Very light weight, easily lifted by the wind and see-through when close. And that's part of the fun. I get a lot of wry smiles.

My first kilt was a "hiking" kilt from Mountain Hardware ( https://www.mountainhardwear.com/mens-elkommando-utility-kilt-OM3417.html?cgid=mens-pantsShorts&dwvar_OM3417_variationColor=011 ) and it was ok.
My second that I got last year was a Utilikilt of the Workman variety and I do agree that it is a bit heavier than I had hoped but I still love it!
This year for my birthday I got myself a Survival Utilikilt! I like the black even though it's still a bit warm in the sun but, it's made out of ripstop (cotton I think) and I love it! On windy days I'd suggest the Workman as it's weight help it stay down reducing (but not always stopping) accidental ;-) exposures. Unless you really like to show off. Not that I'm apposed to it mind you! Just don't need a custom set of steel bracelets thank you very much. :-(
Both do have toggles to connect the front to the back making sort of shorts if you will (they call it -] Loop & Toggle Modesty closure system (closes the pleats up while still looking good) on their website.
They are made in USA (founded and factory in Seattle, WA) too!

I had mine in Leith , Scotland. It's made of light weight material. My Tartain colors are from ancient times and they had no trouble.

I enjoyed unloading the hire car at a French airport feeling the wind lifting my light kilt entirely above my waist.
