NJ is allowing free admission to all state parks this summer.
Does not apply to Sandy Hook because it is Federal.
While I won't directly affect Gunnison, does anyone think it might result in fewer people attending other beaches at Sandy Hook and reduce the crowd entering and leaving.

I doubt it will have much impact on folks heading to Gunnison but it could for the other beaches at Sandy Hook. I could see some going to Island Beach state park which is now free

I just arrived at Sandy Hook and the line at the toll Plaza was fairly large.

Same with me. I went on the really hot Tuesday after Memorial day and there was a bit of a line to get in around 11:00 but it moved pretty fast. I bought my season parking pass and the transaction was very quick.
