Naked in the lockerroom

I have belonged to this Health Plex in TX. there are no kids allowed. They have to be at least 18. at first you had to wear to wear a swimsuit in the Hot Tub, then they put up signs in the steamroom and the dry sauana (NO NUDITY PLEASE) for all of this I pay over $1000.00 a year. Now as of March 1, 2012 they have new signs up that state you have tobe covered at all times, including in the locker room. Now remember these are all adult men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How are you supost to get undressed or dressed. I had a young guy, that was getting dressed a couple of lockerdown from me told me to cover up and pointed to the signs. I politly told him if he was afraid of nudity to turn his back to me or move to another locker. What is this world coming to.

RE: Naked in the lockerroom

I was disappointed when, after a big remodeling job, my club in Minneapolis put up signs saying you have to wear a suit in the whirlpool and a towel or suit in the sauna and steam room - which are all within the men's lockerroom, and were used nude by 90 percent of the men for decades. Some ignore it and do as they please, but sadly, not very many.
But your place takes it even further. That is just insane. Who makes these decisions? Are they thinking it's going to get them the new, younger members?

I think that is the problem, they are getting younger ones in there thst were brought up in schools where they didn't have to take showers after gym. I have even heard that the new schools don't even have showers in them. even the jocks go home to shower, and that is who these general managers or directors are catering to, and these kids don't have that kind of money to belong to these health clubs I just ignore all there sill sighns what are they going to do call the cops. when my contract is up Im going back to the YMCA

What the...
I see your point about the whole young guys thing, but Ive never heard of schools not having showers. that is ridiculous. When I was in school, I took a shower like twice a day because of swimming and PE. About half of the kids would get naked with no problem. So this is interesting to hear about schools not having showers.
I just hope gyms like that go out of business or something because that is insane. I have a gym near by that is kind of similar but not like that. This gym is just has the no shirt-no shoes-no service kind of attitude. Even that annoys me because I don't understand why taking your shirt off is a bad thing but whatever. We can't do a single thing.

Yes you CAN do something, put in a complaint, if there are enough people complaining about this madness they will relent.

Wow - I can understand a shorts/shoes policy in work out areas, but a no nudity policy in the locker room????? What the ****?? I know that the younger guys in my gym seem to be a bit shy about being naked (they often go into the shower with shorts on), but yikes...

Mine says "no nudity" as well. Screw it... I'm naked anyway! That's what a locker room is for!

I wonder if there is a potential lawsuit issue, if one's nudity is misconstrued. People are so slaphappy with lawsuits these days. Then overcompensated modesty becomes a self fulfillingprophecy. It's a shame.

RE: Naked in the lockerroom

I was in the military for 10 years, I've been around the world because of it.. The gyms on base were open to all ages all of the time. I'm always went nude in the locker room to get out of my gym clothes and shower. I'd walk from where ever my locker was to the communal showers, towel over my shoulder. Did my business and walked back and stood naked under the dryers. The only time you would ever see guys wrapped in a towel was when a child was present. The restroom was in the locker room as well. The sauna was coed so you had to wear something in there but I've never been to any base that had mandatory clothing in the locker room.
