Gym swimwear? What to wear?

Return to Discussions

Hey guys,

So I am trying to get into lap swimming a lot more but cant decide what to wear as a nudist:( I find speedos and jammers very constricting smashing your dick and balls but shorts too floppy. I also never seen guys wear speedos in the pool area. It would be great to just swim naked but obviously not an option.

Any suggestions on what to do or type of brands?

Honestly, a speedo is best. Because it's tight, it doesn't billow out and drag you down. I encourage you to find a tight suit (speedo, square cut, whatever) that you can wear. Remember, once you get moving, you won't be thinking about the suit. You'll be thinking about the swim.

Aussie Bum has some speedo type suits that are loose up front so they dont smash the goods. Thats what I would wear and not worry what others are wearing. I have a couple of them and they are the most comfortable thing I have to wear at the beach or pool when I have to wear something.

If you are uncomfortable with that some some short inseam and light running shorts might work better than some so called swimwear.

If you're looking for something that's comfortable and don't mind minimal coverage, you might consider briefs rather than swimsuits. I have some Andrew Christian pouch briefs that I wear swimming. If you have a large penis, it's very obvious in a Speedo type suit. But with a pouch brief, it conceals the size a little better.

Tan through swim suits are less restricting than others.

I have never thought about wearing briefs to swim before:)

lycra speedo works if your gut smaller than your butt

Size shouldn't matter. If you have the drive to swim seriously at at gym, wear something designed for swimming.

Totally agree that nude is best, especially when fully shaved or waxed. But then there's really tight minimal coverage Speedos. Suggest that you cut out the liner that's only in the front. Solid white shows when wet.

I'll second the choice of a "tan thru" because I just got mine on Amazon (~$30).Previously, I used one of my Speedo's with the liner cut out so my bulge would "print."As a varsity swimmer in HS and College, we routinely cut the liners out to "reduce weight" and of course shaved our legs to "reduce drag."I resumed shaving my legs when I retired and had more time to Kayak to make spreading sun screen & tanning oil EASIER plus making it easier to dry off.OK, OK, those reasons "sound good" butt it was also more erotic. Kayaking in a Speedo is NOT COMFORTABLE.....butt going "Commando" in light weight shorts, no more than 2" inseam with a side split plus liner cut out to FEEL THE BREEZE and avoid "jock itch."Not many people "look" butt if they DO, then I make eye contact back and SMILE as I nod acknowledgement that it's OK TO LOOK.

Do you ever have an opportunity to kayak nude?

To the OP, if you have already decided that Speedo briefs are too constricting, then it sounds like you should find some swim shorts and remove the liner. Sometimes nylon running shorts will also fill the bill. Personally, I find that swim briefs that are unlined are not all that constricting, and I am quite comfortable wearing them at my local Y and in hotel pools. I like the N2N brand, sport or trunk style. The bikini style is a little to brief for me at the Y, but OK at hotels and beach.
