Nude is disgusting?
Return to DiscussionsMy wife and I got a hot tub a couple of years ago. I have insisted on using it nude in our secluded back yard.
I have read all the different science and opinions about swimsuits being worse than bare skin in pools and tubs. I have shared this with her, and I never it use it nude unless I have showered within a couple of hours. I have never so much as farted between a shower and a trip to the hot tub.
To this day, my wife insists that nude use in the hot tub is "disgusting." She claims to understand all the logic behind my side of the argument, and doesn't even dispute it. However, she insists that nude use of the hot tub is "just weird".
Does anyone have a similar situation or advice? Logic and science aren't working. If she thought she could get away with it she would straight up forbid me to go in without a suit. Thank you for your help.
Yep, exactly the same situation at my house - except her argument is simply "I dont feel comfortable "
Very private back yard, soaking in the evenings in the dark, no one else at home....

Dont have a hot tub, but my wife gives similar irrational excuses. Her go to is I just prefer clothes, weve already got past the issues of nudity is a sin, but sticks to her excuses anyway. Women are complicated and the world we live in creates these hang ups in women.
all i'll say is good Luck on changing her mind or attitude, My wife used to be pretty open to simple nudism at home but later on she turned her back on it and it's useless to even talk to her about it . some are that way and Nothing will change their minds. side note them kind are oftern brought up in some staunch religious settings .
American women's view of modesty is different than men's both traditionally and in contemporary society for many reasons. My recommendation is to challenge your wives and partners on exactly what nudity is disgusting. What makes some parts private vs. public? Where are their boundary lines of decency north of their knees and south of their shoulders? Help them understand it's all conditioned behaviors.
I have a friend from Turkey in the US who jokes about being "ruined for life" after being taught as a child that if he wore shorts in the summer there'd be harmful vapors to make him sick. Once I stayed with him in the summer, took a shower and stayed naked inside to air dry and he was both taken aback and impressed with my body confidence.
If your wife has any friends to learn body acceptance from, I'd recommend you encourage her to hang around more with them. I was married long enough to know they won't listen to husbands...

She is stuck on her opinion and will never be convinced otherwise.
