Naked At Home - 2014 / 2018
For people who like to be naked in the house...
what about the windowsReturn to Discussions
I have a question! How many home nudists do so with all their blinds and curtains closed? I do understand the necessity to not upset the neighbors,
Now MY situation, I live in a single floor apartment complex of 1 bedroom and efficiency apartments. I have a large window in the living room and 1 in the bedroom facing the common area, another building and a neighbors back yard. It also is on the end of the building and the maintenance shed that shares my living room wall. I've lived here 6 years and the first 5, I felt like a Hermit never opening the blinds because of the foot traffic going to the shed and the sidewalk angles to less than 2.5' from my window!
So this year after having enough of not seeing the outside world I did some research and found a fix. At most any home store, they sell a window film kit that works as a two-way mirror! I bought the kit and promptly installed it in the living room hoping that there was truth in the statements made by the company and HOORAY it really does work as long as it is brighter outside than in.
It does take a little getting used to though when you are buck naked and somebody walks by the window, remember just 2.5 feet away from it, I tend to get a little giddy and excited when they do. LOL
So if you are a blinds closed Nudist and want to end the darkness go to the home store and buy a kit you'll not be sorry you did!
PS I paid less than$50 bucks
Fortunately, we live at the dead end of a road. A county nature preserve surounds our yard. In the daytime, we can see if anyone is in the preserve, and even without film on Windows, you can't see inside from the preserve - I have checked. The preserve gate is always closed at night and we have dogs in the yard that would let us know if someone were out there. All that said, we keep curtains and blinds open day and night except in the bedroom. I work late and sleep till about 10 am, so we use blinds to keep bedroom dark till then
We live on about 3.5 acres, with trees and brush all around. We don't even have curtains in our house, although we have venetian blinds on the upper-story windows just to block the sun in the morning. It's private enough that we can go nude on most of the property without worrying about people seeing us.
I generally dont bother closing the blinds. First, our home has very few windows facing the front and most of those do not have a lot of visibility in. Most of the front windows are in my office in which I do admit the blinds are at least somewhat closed but others like by our front door are not. The rest look out in the backyard which has two story homes overlooking it and as I have stated elsewhere we talked to the neighbors years ago and told them they might see more than they would expect as we were no shy and they were okay with it so not only are the blinds not closed I work in and enjoy the backyard nude regularly.
I went for a long time not closing the blinds on my windows. Normally with my slightly tinted windows if it is lighter outside than inside then you cannot see in. I also thought, heck I am in my own home, anyone looking in is violating my privacy.
Until one day a police officer knocked on my door and informed me that the law is: Nudity inside your home is illegal. If you can be seen by anyone then you can be arrested. I asked if that included a peeping tom, and he said yes. If you can be seen, then you have committed a crime.
From that day until this, I close my blinds and live in a cave while nude. Thus, I usually save my nude time to early morning before I open my blinds to let the sun in, and after dark when I close my blinds for the night. I hate having to live by other peoples rules. But that is the way of it, unless I want to go to jail.

That is a very good idea! We have sheer drapes that are closed during the day and like your film kit as long as its light out no one can see in and we can see out quite easily. For us, the sheers also provide a little bit of decoration in front of the window.
However, the film is a great idea and I will have to mention it to hubby in case want any additional windows shielded in other parts of the house.
When we bought our very first house, we just lucked out and our windows facing the street, also faced one side of the neighbors backyard. We could leave our windows, blinds open and up all day and even those walking by on the sidewalk couldn't see inside. At night, we turned the blinds down but never shut all the way.
We don't have an issue presently, at this house, but still turn our blinds down at night but they are not shut. I've gone out and looked at the windows and had my wife walk back and forth and though I can tell she was walking back and forth, I can't really make out they that she's naked. If we have the overhead lights on for any reason, we play it safe and just close the blinds completely until we shut off the light.
Only time the office blinds are shut completely is when we go to bed at night. We've bought 3 homes and the last three. we did some pretty extensive planning with our lifestyle at the top of the priority list for must have's. Privacy, inside and out ... that's our main objective.
Hope your window treatments work out for you!
We tinted our windows with that tint a couple of years ago to stop heat. Then we realized that we turned the back of our house into a very large mirror. Luckily our back yard neighbor doesn't peek over the common fence very often because now you can see all that is going on in our very large mirrors.
