For people who like to be naked in the house...
feeling embarrased naked after shavingReturn to Discussions
Hoping someone may have some suggestions regarding an embarrassing situation I find myself in with my wife - having just totally shaved myself recently - down there. Felt it would make me look younger for various reasons. it's now a weird situation in the sense that i think i may now feel more embarrassed my wife seeing me totally naked than anyone else in the world seeing me naked. anyone I know face to face I mean. My imagination got a bit wild lay in the bath one morning and I shaved myself completely in the hot tub. The problem now is that the only one time i went from being hairy to bare before was over 25 years ago when I shaved completely for a vasectomy operation. I remained fully shaved for many many years, but when my wife and I ceased having an intimate relationship, I let my hair grow again. We still get on OK, and we share the same house - only seperate bedrooms now. I still walked through her bedroom naked every morning though to use the en suite bath. But the day I shaved myself she came upstairs to make her bed. Usually I would help her change the sheets even when I am naked. But that morning i came out of the bathroom all sheepish and guilty looking and hid myself behind the wet towel I said needed washing and nipped quickly into my bedroom to put on a dressing gown - which she knows i never wear when we are alone in the house upstairs. Then I helped her make the bed. I have avoided her seeing me naked ever since because I know she will want to know exactly why at the age of almost 60 that I have suddenly decided to shave myself once again. Hope someone will suggest some good plausible reason I can give her, when I feel ready to.
As a aside to this, I'm seeking advice from those that do shave etc.
Waxing is out - I'm too much of a wimp.
I've seen people recommend Veet, while others say it doesn't work.
What are people's recommendations. I'm a gorilla so I'm not going to do everywhere, but I'm thinking about doing my back as it itches like mad when I get up in the mornings and the hairs un-flatten. I'm also thinking about doing my genitals.
Mar shaves but says that when the hairs start to grow back they're very irritating.
What do people think?
First it's very difficult to shave your own back - you will have to get Mar to do it. Maybe she can do the other parts at the same time - enjoy!
I go for a regular full body wax. It isn't that painful. I have tried laser treatment and chemicals, even an epilator. None are as good as a professional wax, though shaving comes second best.

It seems like you want to try shaving, the experience does seem to vary and what you've described others as saying about it seems typical. I'd go for it, you won't know if you like it until you've done so, you may well be curious forever if you don't. Try a small area at first maybe, rather than spend ages doing your whole body and then finding that you don't like it. Re-growth can be irritating, not always and varies a lot from one person to another. Quite often its after few days that this is worse, shaving again or grinning and baring it for a few days if you decide to give up on it are the obvious solutions.
I've shaved my body regularly for many years regularly, rarely letting it grow for more than a few days, a daily shave adds a few minutes to a shower and I find that easier than doing it every few days. I also like being very smooth. At first I just shaved my pubic area, like many others, but soon shaved my whole body once I discovered how good it felt to be that extra bit more naked. Your back can be tricky to shave well by yourself, unless you're very flexible and can see out of the back of your head, or have a non-steaming mirror. A partner can certainly do that more easily.

The trick to avoiding the irritation is to shave it before it get's to that point. If it starts to itch after three day growth, then shave it at two days and it's not a problem. Just figure out what your time interval is for regrowth and shave it before it becomes an irritant.
Never felt embarrassed about shaving or removing body hair ... why? ... because my wife and I talk to each other about everything.
I truly do not understand some of the relationships on these sites. It seems as though so many men are living secret lives from the woman they say, the love so much. My wife has been trimming and shaving her pubic area for almost 50 years! When we began dating, as her bathing suits got smaller, so did the area of pubic hair. After we were married, I will admit that in the very beginning, over 40 years ago, when we both decided to begin removing body hair, pubic hair specifically, we began slowly and did so for personal, sexual reasons.
As the shaving routine continued, more and more pubic hair was removed until we both decided that completely smooth pubic areas were preferred by both of us, for ourselves and each other. We discussed it and supported each others desire and preference. We've both asked each other how the other felt about what we wanted to do with our body, shaving off body hair, tats, piercings, augmentations, even circumcision. Each time we gave our thoughts but never a negative opinion, always positive and supportive on whatever we wanted to do, but we've always talked with one another about everything that affected us as individuals and a couple ... not matter how intimate.
I've gone from shaving to waxing and prefer it much, much more. My wife tried waxing once and it was painful enough that she's afraid to try it again but is thinking about going with me and having it done so she can forego shaving every day or every other day. I help with those areas that she can not reach. Recently, I decided to removed more body hair and had back, shoulders, upper arms, butt and upper thighs, along with the Brazilian wax I was routinely getting. She wasn't a fan at first because she "liked my fuzzy butt" but my smooth butt grew on her rapidly and she prefers it now. I told her, that I wanted to try it and if I didn't like it or she was adamant about me having a fuzzy butt, I could grow it back but in comparison to some, when I get home from a wax appointment, my wife wants to see what I've had done. Every time, it could be more and more hair removed and the only thing she asks is ... "did it hurt?"
For those of you who are afraid to wax because it is painful: Most studios have a cream that will numb the area. I know this may not apply to those who want to wax their whole body, but if it is just the privates, apply the cream a half hour before going in, wrap the area with saran wrap so it does not mess up your clothes, and tell the person you need a few more minutes than normal to prepare with some wet wipes to remove the cream. That and an advil, and I never feel pain.
Don't be embarrassed by your personal preference to be shaved. Sounds like you're pushing your own boundaries and not your wife's? Life is short. Be comfortable and happy. I've been shaving/waxing/trimming for 20 years and I'm a pretty hairy guy. Consider either waxing as has already been mentioned or just trimming very short in the groin area. Either will prevent irritation after 3 days. Your ... um "sack" can be done daily with a good quality razor before getting into the shower. Again, be happy! If the wife has an issue just use the nearly inarguable "personal preference" angle. Maybe the "haircut" might stoke new interest :-)
I totally agree Zoro! Life is short - It's your body; Do what makes you happy and feel good about yourself! I'm new to the lifestyle, yet I've experimented with various styles down there. I've found one that works for me, for now. Find one that works for you and go for it!
