Return to DiscussionsWe've not been to Crete recently but we have been visiting it for the nude beaches for many years. We've tended to visit the western half of the south coast of the island the most, from and including Malia westwards. We found many nudist beaches in this area when we first went there, liked many of them and have returned to them again and again. Plakias was an early favourite, the first time we went there there were 2 beaches to the west of town and three to the west where +80% were nude on all of them. I believe its a bit different now, development spreads and tends to restrict nudity, sadly. Other favourites were Sougia, Sweetwater - west of Chora Sfakion and Paleochora.

There are sections on the rest of Crete on the latter site too. It also describes nude places on Gavdos island to the south of Crete. Its quite a small island and doesn't have a huge amount of facilities but its great for nudism, we were nude just about everywhere we went away from the main settlement.
Hi, southern Crete is simply amazing! Many options for nudism. There is an amazing beach close to sfakia with nudists as well Glika Nera- Sweet Water. You can go either by hiking or boat. Close to sfakia there is a nudist hotel called Vritomartis. Close the hotel there is a nudist beach called Filaki with many beautiful coves. In southern Chania there is also very beautiful beach called Kedrodasos. You have to walk there are cedar trees sand dunes.. amazing. As mentioned above Plakias left there is nudist beach and many beaches close there. Have in mind Crete is huge and the southern part has nad roads. I d reccomend to split your stay to differnet places to avoid driving a lot. That what i ve done for 2 summers. Packing is not the best thing every days but you ll have the chance to relax more and drive less every day. There are many many nudist options close to Vai as well to the palm tree forest. How many days are yoiu going to stay? Its imposiible to explore it once. I ve been for 2 summers for 3 weeks each and sill are many many unexplored parts. Even cretans haven;t visited all the beaches. Whatever you may need ask me
