Normalising Nudity

A group for people with a common interest in using nudism/naturism to normalise nudity in society, and promoting healthy attitudes to the human body. We will share ideas, events, media, etc. that will help make non-sexual nudity acceptable generally and not only in reserved areas. Society's attitudes towards nudity lead to unreal expectations about appearance, shame, and ignorance of what a...

The beach I prefer to use, Pt Addis / Southside near Bells Beach Torquay is a beautiful location. On the Pt Addis side, it's a long walk to the CO section but it's the side I prefer. I like to then walk all the way around the point to the Southside beach (if the tide is out) and regularly I'll pass textiles, I smile & say hello, I give them some distance so as not to get in their space. I see an occasional nude guy walking like me but a couple of days ago there was a group of 4 other nudists walking along, they did the opposite walk to me. There were 3 guys and one woman, all smiled and said hello and I thought that was a great way to promote normalising nudity. Back near my gear these 4 had walked past a single woman who was clothed and she seemed surprised by these 4, I then also walked past and I was tempted to ask why she was surprised, she was at a nude beach, but I chose not to, there were other nudes around her d she chose to sit there.

I think by walking along the CO beach and doing what these 4 others, myself and other people do is a simple gesture about nudity. Keep it friendly, happy and normal.

I'd be less likely to try that at Sunnyside, since the campground uses the beach bear the carpark and it's popular with young mums at other times. It's possible to go some way beyond the sign on occasion, but not all the way to the car as yet. The northern end connects with a beach popular with local walkers, who may be concerned with us openly pressing the boundaries. That there are occasionally some blokes in the bushes there may also be a concern for the locals, although said blokes seem to keep to themselves.

Can you leave all your gear in the car in those situations or take/wear it a little?

I haven't been to Sunnyside for around 20 years, it sounds like it has changed a little. With the Pt. Addis carpark, it gives access to a textile beach and is around a 1-1.5k walk to the CO section, I wear only shorts and a T usually. At the Southside section, the carpark is paved as its a popular surf location and look-out along the coast, the walk down is shorter but steeper and you need to wear something, speedo's at least. This is where a woman took a photo of me a couple of years ago (I had shorts on), she thought I was going to flash her as some guys have been ding that and the local police and newspaper told women to photograph anyone they were concerned about. I was a little annoyed when I found out but later I accepted that she did not know me and maybe had a bad experience. So I would at least wear speedos.
