Normalising Nudity

A group for people with a common interest in using nudism/naturism to normalise nudity in society, and promoting healthy attitudes to the human body. We will share ideas, events, media, etc. that will help make non-sexual nudity acceptable generally and not only in reserved areas. Society's attitudes towards nudity lead to unreal expectations about appearance, shame, and ignorance of what a...

I just wonder what do you do to normalize nudity? Most people (not nudist) do not like the subject.

I agree with others, not wearing a shirt when appropriate and mid-thigh shorts sends a positive signal.

My strategy also, but I go with not wearing a shirt where permitted, which includes some places that may not be considered appropriate.

I also mention to people I get some sun in my yard, early and late, vitamin D all over, those sorts of explanations. Mention it in passing, not trying to make a big deal about it, keeping it casual.
Agree, it can help to get the meaning across without using words with strong associations, such as nude, nudity, and naked.

RE:What is it you do

Last Sunday when I was at my favourite beach, I went for the long walk I like to do. When I first started doing this (a few years ago) I would take some brief underwear but now I don't, just a hat, sunglasses and a smile. I walk from where I have my towel & gear on the north end of the Point Addis beach around the next point to the Southside beach. I pass quite a few textiles but I give them space and they tend to just look, some smile and we both keep walking. I walk all the way along Southside which is the legal CO beach and you see textiles everywhere there, so I smile, nod, maybe say hello if they are closer. A few other nudies do the walk so between us all I think we are showing it is natural and legal and none of us are being offensive. The textiles at this beach that confuse me are the women who wear the tiny dental floss type bikini's, they are at a nude beach, but they wear pieces of string with effectively 3 tiny pieces of cloth to cover the 3 bits they seem concerned about. I saw two pairs last weekend and one girl went for a swim as I walked past and she was constantly adjusting so a nipple didn't slip out. I just smiled, shook my head and walked on, not sure why she bothered with anything, and hopefully she will work that out next time. If I have any impact on her or others working out that nudity is normal especially when swimming then that's great.

Also collect my newspaper naked each day. Often it is dark or just becoming light but this morning it was quite light, I was a bit late. I do look to see if people are around but if I am seen, so be it, no one has said anything and I talk to my neighbours often.
