Introduction to North Texas Naturists (NTN)

Thank you for your interest in North Texas Naturists (NTN). NTN is a new adult (18+) couples and singles friendly non-landed club. Unlike most of the groups here at True Nudists, it is my hope that NTN will not simply operate as an Internet based group of members living in the North Texas area, but will become a true operating non-landed club where members will actually get together, plan and attend group social outings and events. Initially I expect that our events will primarily consist of group overnight or day trips to one of the many nudist resorts that we have the good fortune of having here in North Texas. In addition there are several more located in and around the Austin area (in addition to the beach at Hippie Hollow) that are within reasonable driving distance. Later if North Texas Naturists grows and we have members who own homes willing to host events, we could add home parties to the mix. Also, depending on interest, I could also see NTN facilitating the planning and booking of group trips to other out of state and even foreign resorts.

The traditional nudist philosophy is simple: being nude is natural. Nudists believe that clothing restricts the enjoyment of many activities and relaxation. Nudists are not opposed to wearing clothes when there are valid reasons for doing so like weather, safety while working, etc. Simply put we embrace the concept of clothed when practical, unclothed when possible. NTS will promote a wholesome clothing optional lifestyle after the naturist tradition espoused by The Naturist Society (TNS), the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) and similar organizations. NTN will not operate as a sex club or swingers club, recognizing that social nudism is not sexually oriented.

I feel it is important to identify with and support our national nudist organizations and so I intend for NTN to affiliate with both TNS and AANR as a non-landed club. While any interested person who is a member in good standing with True Nudists may join our Internet based group, to be a member of the actual NTN non-landed club and to attend NTN outings, you must be a member in good standing of one of the above organizations. It is your choice whether to join TNS or AANR. Personally I belong to both to because I see some different benefits to membership in each of the organizations. While there are no membership fees or dues with regards to NTN, I suppose you could consider the requirement to join either TNS or AANR as an initial membership fee. Right now the current costs of membership in those organizations are;

TNS:
One year regular membership (per person) $ 55.00

AANR:
Annual Associate Membership for Individuals $ 57.00
Annual Dual Associate Membership for Couples $ 91.50

It is my hope that NTN will develop into a strong group of couples and singles who will enjoy getting together to socialize, enjoy sports, games and other naturist activities. I hope that we can enjoy group travel to the area landed clubs and resorts in North Texas, eventually meet regularly at the homes of volunteer host club members that might have pools or hot tubs, travel to the clothing optional beach at Hippie Hollow in Austin and even to resort areas out of state, where we can enjoy our clothing optional lifestyle in a group setting. We could also have clothed events when clothing optional wasnt available and could get involved in community service. There seems a real potential here to meet and develop real friendships with others right here in North Texas that share the enjoyment of social nudity and nude recreation.

I propose serving as President of NTN for a period of not more than one year or until we have ten active, participating members which ever occurs first. At that time I propose that we hold a meeting, draft club by-laws and hold a vote for club officers; President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and Events Coordinator. I envision publishing a monthly newsletter, publishing an annual events calendar and putting up a web site to keep members up to date on club plans and happenings.

If after reading this introductory letter and the information provided about North Texas Naturists, you find yourself interested in joining, please apply through True Nudists for membership to the group. I will follow up with you and see if you have an interest in becoming a part of the actual club and in attending club outings and events.

Sincerely,
