Anyone have some good advise on growing potatoes? Going to plant them for the first time.

RE:potatoes

They are pretty easy to grow. We planted in late Feb and they are already doing well and growing. Slice your seed potatoes with an eye on each slice. Plant them with the eye side up, we usually plant 3-4 inches deep. Depending on oil temp it will not take them long to sprout and start to grow.

Here is how I grow my potatoes:
- don't plant unless the soil 6" down is at least 50 degrees
- add lots of compost, potatoes are heavy feeders
- plant pieces that are about half the size of a hen's egg with at least two eyes
- plant them 4 to 6 inches deep and mound them up about 8 inches above ground
Good luck!

Remember that you need space between the rows to make the ridges and at times you might want to make the ridges higher. Some photos of me planting/harvesting potatoes.
