Hello I was in the Army 1983-1986 Ft Dix NJ, Ft Irwin CA and South Korea one year
Return to DiscussionsI just noticed this group and figured I join it. I was a 94 B Army cook, As stated above ft Dix, Ft Irwin, then South Korea. In 1985 I was with the 60th trans unit and we took 3rd place for best mess hall. Only 6 mess halls can enter this. We cooked for 2000 per meal three times a day. This was during team spirit. At fort Irwin often I had to cook the breakfast alone because my co-worker was pasted out.
I was in South Korea in 85, I visited the DMZ I learned to speak, read and write the language. Amazingly to this day I can still do it, not as well as I did when living among the langage, but I still get to use it from time to time.
