NUDISM And SPIRITUALITY

Nudism and spirituality (in the modern sense) together bring us closer to Nature. Meditation is like inward prayer, communing with our inner being, our life spirit, making us happy and healthy.

I'm not a Buddhist but I admire the Dalai Lama, and his quotes, such as;
"Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back, and reasons to stay."
"Remember that the best relationship is the one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other."
"Happiness is the highest form of health."
"A calm mind brings inner strength, and that's very important for good health."
"There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done; one is called yesterday, and the other is called tomorrow. Today is the day to love, believe, do, and mostly live."
"We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection."
"We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace within ourselves."
"True change is within. Leave the outside as it is."
"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness."
"When you talk, you are only repeating what you already know; but when you listen, you may learn something new."
"People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they're not on your road doesn't mean they've gotten lost."

Well stated. Listening puts the focus on others. Life really is not all about me. So glad for that.

In keeping with that thought on Buddhism

My name is Neil and I'm new here but I consider myself to be a Buddhist even though there isn't a temple Within anywhere where I live my favorite saint is Quan Yin because of her Focus on the Divine compassion but

I often quote people like Stephen Covey who is famous for saying we are not humans on a spiritual journey We Are Spiritual Beings on a human Journey

And then my favorite inspiration from the Christian Bible which is my motto or Mantra if you will it comes from Psalm 46:10 be still and know that I am God I I'm exalted among of the Nations I am exalted in the Earth

To me I'm not here to Advocate any particular kind of belief but that pretty much sums it up at least from my point of view however you define providence is up to you and however you treat others as long as it's done when the principles of mindfulness and in the exercise of absolute compassion if you have done those two things I think then all of the noble truths of every faith path or lineage leads to the same source

Hello Neil ! Thanks for your interesting comments on Buddhism and spirituality. I like the quote about us being spiritual beings on a human journey. Feel free to comment anytime, and I'm glad you are a member of our group.

RE:I'm not a Buddhist but...

This is my favorite Dali Lama story.

In a round table discussion about religion and freedom in which Dalai Lama was asked: Your holiness, what is the best religion?

The Dalai Lama paused, smiled and answered: The best religion is the one that gets you closest to God. It is the one that makes you a better person.

Yes, Sam, I read that one of his sayings. I love his philosophy. Thanks for your comments.

There is only one Dalai Lama; what a shame.

I'm with you on The Dali's quotes. I am a Captist (baptized a Catholic in my youth and then baptized a Baptist at about 60 years old) who quotes him and Mahatma Gandhi as well. Good post.
