For those nudists interested in exploring the history of nudism and the movement.

Nudist employment

Return to Discussions

I am very curious whether any of the nudists following this group
have worked at a nudist resort, campground, beach or in some other
capacity where they were accepted and able to make a living?
It seems to me that conservative attitudes and a (general)
unwillingness to accept (or tolerate) people with different
backgrounds, such as a belief in social nudity, may compromise our
ability to get employment. This could be a modern side-effect
of all the search engines and availability of information on
people, but it also must depend on attitudes (or policies, and
background checks). So, if regardless of whether you remain
in the employment market or have recently retired, the question
becomes HAS an interest in social nudity impacted earning a
living?
We can be fine with the idea businesses may not want to hire a
"known" nudist, but isn't this equivalent to discrimination?
Even if the category of "nudist" is not an officially
recognized cultural group (protected minority, type thing), there
may be a tendency towards unwillingness to hire someone identified
as such. What is your opinion on this issue?

If you believe, 'Once a confirmed nudist, always a nudist.' then
this issue should be of importance to you too. The
information-centric culture we now live in means, or may mean,
information on every person is readily available and will be
considered now more than ever in making employment decisions.
How can this effect each person? What is the best
defense against it? More openness? More advocacy?
Or, do we need to network with each other and (even) find
jobs for each other?

Do any of your co-workers know you are a nudist?Does your
supervisor know you are a nudist?Have you ever discussed social
nudity (or nudism) with a co-worker?Have you ever
discussed/disclosed an interest in social nudity with a client or
customer?
Do/did you work for a business depending on revenue (income) coming
from spending related IN ANY WAY to social nudity?

Thanks in advance for ALL participation.
