Does anyone here prefer stronger whiskey? I recently discovered a bourbon called Early Times (I think that was the name of it), and they said it was originally a medicinal whisky. It certainly acts fast...and doesn't take much to put you over the legal limit. Great taste though. And I like that 50% Wild Turkey is now clearly labelled Turkey 101. It helps keep your whiskey drinking more responsible.

From what I understand, many prefer a stronger whiskey so they can dilute it to their liking. That 120 proof can come down to wherever you need it, but you can't take 86 proof back up! I'll try anything 80-proof and up.

I tend to like to float around the 90 Proof. Full glass of rocks half a glass of whiskey and you can stretch that baby out for a while.

In one distillery I worked, we had old prohibition-era prescriptions in a glass case "for medicinal spirits only". Prescribing whiskey for what ails us is one way the big distilleries surivived the 18th amendment. The 21st amendment was another!
