With a helpful friend introducing him/ her with kindness, informations and patience yes!

Well yes! Of course it is! Just look at me... I love being naked while minding my own business, even with other people around. It's just the socializing part that can be more challenging at times for us shy people out there =)

I agree with Bob. Have a friend who calls himself a shy nudist. He's OK being nude just about anywhere and with anyone seeing him, but not with socializing.

Absolutely! I've been a nudist all my life. But, while I force myself to be somewhat outgoing and sociable, I am almost painfully shy!

Yes, as odd as it may seem. I am fairly shy socially, so when I visit a resort or beach I am probably not going to strike up a conversation with people I don't know or ask to join the volleyball game . That would be my same behavior whether clothed or not. I just like to be nude. I admire those who are more extroverted, just never "got it" myself.

The best nudists are shy nudists. They let their bodies say more than their words, and that is the greater message of nudism: authenticity, acceptance and harmony. The worst nudists are the extroverts that will keep on yacking until they've gotten everyone's attention and made them too tired to have anything left to respond.
Extroverts need energy from us introverts and have a bit of a conspiracy going that they're better. They're only better in being emotional vampires. OK, maybe I'm being too hard on extroverts. I realize they have feelings too. But let your body speak that you are proud and naked and those words are true and beautiful and that's all the words needed to make a difference! Good luck.

I have found a huge number of us are actually shy. Strange irony! Fairly easy to strip off and be naked by yourself, but a whole different thing starting up a conversation.
That's why I find TN and OhNaturist great. It provides a structure where I can socialise. Getting to the next stage - actually meeting up - seems to be a challenge for a lot of people.

Nudism is good for building self esteem. Not everyone there is out there.

i think you'll find plenty of shy nudists! The difference is that they are less likely to be social nudists.

And let's not confuse introverts with shyness. Both groups might be nudists but don't get involved with public nudity for different reasons. Introverts generally aren't social even in textile environments, but can rise to the occasion when circumstances warrant. There are plenty of people shy about displaying their nude body - and they include introverts and extroverts -because of the way they were raised or just not being comfortable with the way their body appears. I'm def not shy about being seen nude (couldn't care less) but am an introvert that isn't much into hanging out just for the sake of hanging out.

It is easiest if you have no one else to live with or really understanding roommates. All it involves is recognizing that in some cases being naked feels better then being in restrictive clothing and not feeling pointless guilt about choosing to be naked instead of wearing clothes when there really is no reason to.
