Yeap best way to jump right in. Don't be shy, tell friends your a nudist so they're not surprised if they drop into visit you.

If you are in the Chicago land area, start by going to King Spa.

They wet area is mandatory nudity, but separated by gender. This way you can get naked and socialize with only woman at first to help you ease into it.

Naked in Chicago is not really as easy as it sounds. Yes you can take your clothing off when home, but social situations are more difficult.

Depending on your goals and comfort level a club would be my next choice. You can also try meeting up with the Chicago Fun club for nudist activitys

Have you been to King Spa lately? Wonder what it is like in a post COViD world. I have not been there in over two years and miss the soak.
