Rock River Vermont Nudists

A group for people who love Rock River in Southern Vermont to exchange news, information, and reminiscences about this wonderful nudist resource. A rocky New England river with several established nude swim holes in beautiful Vermont, where for the most part, nudity is NOT illegal!

Anyone know the extent of the trail damage after the storm last winter?? I heard that much of it may have been washed away making passage to the far end of the river difficult if not impossible.

RE: Trail damage

went up to rock river last Monday, ...not bad, although the damage to the trail is significant in spots. You can still make it to the last pool, just takes a bit of mountain goat in you! Plan on donating to the rock river conservatory to help with the maintenance and marking the safer trail routes.

RE: Trail damage

I have never been to Rock River, but am considering going this year. One thing that has made me apprehensive...while I am a capable hiker, I cannot swim.I don't mind walking across knee or waist-deep water, but I cannot swim across.Did last autumn's storms create any deep washes that would precluding walking across the river?

RE: Trail damage

Hey Sweetcobs:
I've never seen the water so deep that it got above my thighs. It can be swift if there has been a lot of rain, but usually it's knee height. Just look carefully where people are crossing, and select your spot carefully.
You'll LOVE the river!

Man, I'd really like to try and get there this year.. Have to see if I can do the hike in... Where exactly would one go, is there a parking area? an address to GPS in, in order to find the spot? I usually go up to Southern NH to see friends every year, and often pass through Brattleboro, so I know I'm somewhat in the vicinity..
