Return to DiscussionsI'm almost sure that most nudity restrictions have come about because no matter what the location, or advertised intent, gay men can't help themselves from cruising and making advances to other men.
The reason open male nudity survived to the 70's or so, is because prior to then, men co existed side by side, trying their damndest to not out themselves.
As gays gained more prominence, and much of the stigma was removed, gays got sloppy, and started thinking they have the right to be sexual in "mixed company". When we learn to be non-sexual in public locker rooms, etc, perhaps the straight majority might welcome back the past traditions of all being naked together again.
