The Skarp laser razor seemed the holy grail we smoothies have been waiting for. It looked promising but we are still waiting. Here is the latest news on it.

I have spent over $5000 at two different salons for laser removal, and i have had very poor results. I would much rather have spent that money on electrolysis.

RE: Laser hair removel

I have used the TRIA system for several years now. I can say my treatments have not been consistent and I usually only get 5 - 6 in each year during the winter. Once spring hits, my skin is too dark, and my tan usually lasts deep into December, even January. This last year, I went to Costa Rica in December and rebuilt the tan, so I didn't get any treatments in.

I can say there is a noticeable difference. I have now gone 4 months since the last shave. From a distance, you would think I was shaven (especially against the tanned skin), but there is hair. It is very fine and very light. I'm not sure future treatments will have any effect, as the hair is no longer dark.

I can usually go about a month between shaves before any starts growing noticeably, and even then it is very fine and soft (almost like baby hair). If you meet the criteria for the TRIA system (light skin, dark hair), I do recommend it as an option.

I am still shaving. I went to a professional laser technician, unfortunately she told me the laser does not work on all hair colors. Therefore, I would be wasting my money getting the laser treatment. I did appreciate her professionalism, and telling me this instead of letting me spend a lot of money with little or no result.

I started shaving in 1991. Let the hair grow out when I was serious about a relationship. After knowing her for 2 years, the razor came back out and I've been smooth since. In 2014 I got tired of shaving multiple times a week and broke down and got full Brazilian laser hair removal. I haven't regretted a day since. I would say I'm 90-95% hairless. I need to use a razor about once a month, but so quick to clean up.

I like so many, was unable to have laser hair removal due to my dark skin colour and light coloured body hair. I continue to shave daily using a male groomer and a foil razor. I do envy the smoothies that have been successful with laser.
