Do you keep yourself shaved when you visit the doctor?
Return to DiscussionsI have no issue being shaved in front of other nudists because I fit right in. But with doctors, I'm a little self conscious, so I always grow my pubic hair back when I'm getting my annual checkup to the doctor. I always hate that because that means I have to go through 2-3 of hair growth, which I hate.
I wish I could just stay shaved when going to the doctor but I'm afraid he might react and wonder why I don't have pubic hair.
So what do you all do? Do you keep yourself shaved and let your doctor see it? If so, do they ever react or ask questions?
I stay shaved neither my Gp nor my dermatologist has said anything about it . I did notice last year at dermatologist he did have a nurse/ medical assistant present. I did say that Im a nudist beforehand . Want to be sure I checked all over cant be to careful.
Over the years I have noticed the inclusion of a second professional in the exam room. Maybe a medical professional can weigh in, but my guess it has to do with preventing and/or witnessing any questionable incidents.
The below post got my mind working, as is often the case, pondering any reason why a second person might be in the exam room.
I once went to the free clinic because I'd noticed a pronounced area of concern on my genitals. With no noticeable insurance it seemed like the best way to have a professional give it the once-over. After my initial talk with the check-in nurse, there was an overall air coming from her to not be worried about it, but upon insisting I needed eyes on deck, so-to-speak, without an open exam room to use (it was a busy afternoon), they sequestered me in a back hallway with a doctor and a young nurse and I pushed my very tight shorts down off my hips and blushingly let them see and subsequently touch the area in question. This was many years before I knew I was destined for the nude life I now live, and with the full-on stare of two strange sets of eyes and hands, I did immediately become turgid. At that moment, it didn't bother me that the stiffness happened, knowing they had likely seen it all, but the embarrassment did come when the doctor suggested in front of the student nurse that I should stop wearing such tight shorts and that maybe I could cut down on how much I used it. At twenty-eight, I took the first advice to heart, but no one's going to tell a twenty-something to stop using his dick! Mind you, I did give it a few days of rest, allowing the abraded region some respite from all the attention it was receiving at the time. As I fought to put myself away while the doctor was wrapping up his advice, the challenging negotiation of refitting my engorged dong into the questionable choice of clothing was quite difficult, with the nurse's gaze never relieving my parts of her stare, a little smile on her lips she was doing her damnedest to hide, until they both left me alone in the hall to finish the job. With effort, it eventually all did fit back in those stupidly-tight shorts -- which I did throw out once I'd gotten back home.
Reason one: for teaching purposes - probably the case for my hallway exposure.
Reason two: already suggested - to cut down on any question as to what was said and done during the examination, for legal purposes. I would tend to think this would be standard procedure any time a female is being examined by a male, but that does feel a little sexist to mention.

This has also happened to me a few times. Once there was a female intern/student and she watched from across the room until the doctor wanted to look at my genitals. Then she came forward to make sure she did not miss the important part of the exam.
I have been smooth for many years, decades even. I do not grow it back to visit the doc. I have never had a double take or a comment or even a question. once after a motorcycle accident I was being bed bathed. the nurses pulled back the sheets and got my standard backless gown off and said "Oh good, that will make things easy". I was sponged and towled off then helped into the new gown and off they went to the next victim.
It was of no real interest to any of the medical profession, I used to have a Bupa (Private medical) every year, usual testicle check and neither male nor female made any comment of gave it any regard at all.
So relax, its no different to shaving your chin, its a choice to look a certain way and they have seen it all.
