Breaking out of our shell

Return to Discussions

I wanted to create this group because I used to be so scared and shy about being naked in front of people. I've grown into myself and become comfortable, and only recently have started appreciating myself naked. How long did it take you to break out of your shell, and how did it happen?

RE:Breaking out of our shell

I was extremely modest growing up. A few years ago I decided to really work through that. I joined a nude yoga group, went on the naked bike ride, started going to nude beaches. It was mostly like ripping off a bandaid! Im so grateful to be comfortable being nude now.

I was shamefully modest growing up along with huge catholic guilt about my body and the bodies of others.
In my early 20's I went to my first nude beach and was converted. Later I also attended nudist clubs, private gatherings, men's naked swims etc.. Now I love to be naked outdoors any chance I get, especially with friends.

Years ago I was traveling in south Florida. We decided to venture to key west and stayed at a mens resort. Neither us us done this before in life. We headed to the pool soon after Check in as it was right outside our door. Before leaving the room we went with the when in Rome attitude and walked out in just a towel. 1 minute later we were swimming nude and then up ordering drinks nude with others. I would say this paved the way for future places. We even bought a house with the privacy in mind that we would be naked often.

I grew up in a very conservative home. After I turned 30 I started going to nude beaches and after a few trips I took off my own clothes. It was a very freeing experience. Now I am nude every chance I get

Well I have to share why I changed.
At the time I was in my early 20s. I had my own apartment, and would sleep naked. But being around others naked, OMG. I was so!
Anyway, a friend was not shy at all. He was at a bar with 10 women in it. He thought if he would go up to each woman and say Do you want to go #uck . Well the 4th one said yes!
I was walking in the door as he was walking out with a very pretty girl and said that he would be back in 20 minutes. I waited, he told me the story. I was so Shocked. But I started to think that being shy was no fun.
So the first time I had the chance to be nude. I just dropped my pants and took them off fast. I was naked in front of other people. Oh what a great feeling.
I have learned to enjoy all the different parts of life or the same parts like me. Walking down the nudist beach and seeing only the male side of the beach was even more thrilling. Wow I could enjoy so much more. Ahhh
