Home laser hair removal tool
Return to DiscussionsTried the Nood flasher 2.0 a couple years ago. Didn't really notice much of a change. Got to be a pain having to shave before each treatment, so you can't tell if its working until you stop using it. Did it almost daily for a few months with little to no results. Gave it to my daughter in law, never asked her if it worked for her or not though.
I have now used my Braun Pro 5 IPL laser device for three times (once a week for 12 weeks is recommended). I can tell a difference already but the jury is still out on this. The finer hairs on my torso and upper legs seem to be disappearing. The pain is negligible and the cost was about $380. More to follow.
The advice I was given is that the home treatments and anything called 'IPL' is not going to work as well as 'medical grade' laser treatment that a specialist hair removal place would use. My history is that I had hollywood waxes pretty consistantly through my 20s and 30s. 2 years ago I had 8 sessions of medical grade laser treatment to bacically give me 'permanent hollywood'. For me, this has worked really well and other than the odd stray im basically hair free - wish I'd done it years ago and zero regrets. I think it depends on your hair colour and type, also years of waxing had made my pubes pretty sparse and thin which helped the treatment. I know some have used the home IPL kits on various body parts with various success, I have sinced used one on my under arms which has worked pretty well, although there wasnt much hair there to start with.
