Laser treatments

Return to Discussions

I have soft smooth skin, I have had numerous laser treatments to rid my body of hair. I still need to shave as there is still very thin hair that will remain,. I only maintain a small patch of hair that is about 2 inches below my beltline and 2 inches above my penis. I do take take some supplements and drink lots of spearmint tea which helps keep the testosterone levels down. So no more razer rash or prickly hair

RE:Laser treatments

I did laser a few years ago. (Full body, chin down) 8 to 10 sessions over each body part and I've still got some light hair here and there which I shave/trim every other week. Overall though it was great and I don't regret the cost or the discomfort. Doing electrolysis now every few weeks. (Chest done and working on arms now) I will say that the discomfort in each type of treatment is unique. (heat vs essentially plucking) Not sure if I'll every be as smooth as I'd like but much closer to where I want to be now.

The area of challenge for me is my chest. Would you recommend laser for chest hair? I tried shaving it but it itched so bad I thought I would go crazy!

It depends.
If you are fair skinned and/or not tanned with dark hair then yes laser is the way to go. (And if you have a lot of hair to be removed laser can't be beat since each zap is about a quarter sized area of your skin.)
If you have darker skin and/or light hair (white, grey or light blond) then electrolysis is the way to go. (That method is done hair by hair and takes as long as it sounds.)

I will say this, even though i have a bit or hair growth where I've had laser the hair is much thinner and weaker so when I shave I'm much less likely to get a rash or ingrown hair.
