Spanish nudity laws
Return to DiscussionsWhen I stayed at El Ports near Cartagena in 2014 not only was I naked on the beach, which is a known Naturist beach associated with the resort, I also went on walks, alone and with others, in the hills around there without any problems, despite being seen. We always dressed to go into town, of course. I believe the Spanish are relaxed about nudity, but I would suggest you don't push it. I'm not an expert on Spanish law, but I haven't heard of there being any laws against it, just use common sense.
The National law says that you can't have an erection or be in a sexual attitud in front of a minor, but depending on the town you may get stricter local regulations that even forbid nudity at the beach. This local regulations are not really legal, but I don't think being on hollidays you want to take a local Council to the contitutional tribunal after they have reatainned you in police custody for up to 72 hours just because they can. My advise is: Spain is very tolerant but don't push it.
