VERA PLAYA OCTOBER

Return to Discussions

I'm thinking of going to Vera Playafor a few weeksin October. I haven't been before, but if anyone has, can they let me know if they think it's an OK time to go weatherwise and is a lot of stuff closed up, many people around? I've seen a few decent apartments to rent but if anyone has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. Please reply here or private message meThanks for your help,Steve

RE: VERA PLAYA OCTOBER

Hi,
I live in the Vera Playa area and work in the naturist zoneasan estate agent.
By October some of the Chiriguitos (beach bars) will have closed but there will still be some bars open.
The weather is generally still good then and if you stay on an urbanization with an indoor pool (such as Bahia de Vera) the water temperature will be ok.
Currently we are still hitting over 30C most days and there are people around although not as many as in August when it isvery VERY popular with the Spanish tourists.
It's a good time of year as we get sun most days throughout the year however in the winter when the sun goes down you will need some clothes.
If you need any furrther information please take a look at www.nextstopalmeria.com/naturist.asp or e-mail me paul@nextstopalmeria.com
Cheers, Paul.

RE: VERA PLAYA OCTOBER

Hi Bigbros,
You are right, there is some very pricy rentable accommodation, usually owned by British who are living in denial.
By that I mean they refuse to believe that there is an economic crisis, world wide I will add, and that they need to look at their pricing.
There are good deals to be had and I'm helping our friend out on that front.
As for beer and burger at a tenner, er, no, I don't hink so. Yes a beer or soft drink is a little more expensive in the Chiringuitos than it will be in a village bar but that would be the same of any holiday resort, textile or naturist.
Vera Playa is a great naturist resort, not rediculously overpriced in compariosn to other resorts and hasa good selection of bars and restaurants (especially during peak season) including gay and swingers if either take you fancy. Not for me persoanlly and none of it is pushed in your face either (no pun intended!).
If you want to put some clothes on and go and explore Spanish history and traditions then you can do that too. At the extreme you could be skiing in the Nevada in the morning and taking a swim in the sea in the afternoon!
Cheers, Paul.

RE: VERA PLAYA OCTOBER

well via a well known travel website and looking at accom for the whole month of October, I was getting a price of between 650 -750, on 3 of the main naturist complexesat Vera Playa... mind you I guess that's classed as mid - low season...I'm sure it'd be astronomical in August.
