Return to DiscussionsI have little experience with nudism, but so far I've noticed that being nude makes me feel more like a man. I mean, I always feel like a man but being nude helps. I'm very much into being healthy and doing what I can, short of medication, to keep my testosterone up. Testosterone is the best anti-depressant in the world, and I dig it very much. A by-product of this is that I have erections from time to time, including the very few times I've hung out nude with other men. After a few minutes, it goes away....until the next time it happens. Here's my point: I'm not having an erection because I'm trying to have sex with anyone. Im not trying to call any attention to myself. I have them because I'm a man, I dig being man, and I have them! I think any real hetero nude men's group would be familiar with this issue, and what it means, and thus would welcome it within a set of ground rules and boundaries.
There is always times when our manhood has a 'mind of it's own', and been nude arouses feeling that will result in getting a semi or erection. We've all seen semis or erections and most of us enjoy seen them. We know it comes from what we see and feel internally in self which compliments the one receiving it. Knowing others enjoy seen your manhood in what status it is in, brings pleasure to self. Then there are those that respond in kind, adding to the whole experience of manhood. Some will call that male bonding. The male bonding can happen at different degrees and with different aspects of been a male, and erections can be one of them. What some feel is 'normal' others feel it's 'inappropriate'. I've been to Korean spas for years, here locally and across the US and even on cruise ships spa areas. There has been days where nothing happens while other times you wonder 'what is in the air?' LOL. As written above, some will get semis which is part of been a man and others will go fully hard. What happens next is what spa post is not allowed, guys jack it and most cases will have a release. The nude wet area is a SPA and is NOT A BATHOUSE By all definition a "spa", what it's purpose is, for individuals to enjoy the benefits of warm/hot spa waters and dry and wet saunas. The spa is a nude area as most spa waters have some type of minerals to help the body. Having clothing on will cause the spa waters to lose the benefits as the clothing will have chemicals from the washing which bleach into the waters. I meet a guy at one of the Korean spas, totally male oriented, and he explained his whole purpose of going to the spa nude area was to 'play' around with guys that don't get enough sex at home. He was single and enjoyed more married guys than other singles but would play with any guy that would indicate he was open to playing in the saunas. The playing included HJ to a BJs and even fucking. He hardly ever had a guy turn him down especially a HJ. He stated none ever question if the had done other guys that day. Yes, he did as many as he could. Nearly all he did the 'service' but a few he would allow them to play with him. I've seen this not just in one spa and some times by several guys. It's not just at small spas but huge spas to include the famous 'Qua baths and spa Caesars in Las Vegas' (https://www.caesars.com/caesars-palace/things-to-do/qua). Now this guy was direct to the point, so it begs to question, is that what the Korean spa is to guys that can't really go to a legit BATHHOUSE?
I think the male bonding happens when we are accepting of each other and ourselves, when barriers are gone and men are naked together. I find it much easier to talk to another guy when we are both nude. Clothes put up barriers both visual and psychological. I have had errections in the sauna and at the nude beach. Didn't care. Didn't worry. Have seen the same with other guys. No responses, problems or bad reactions. Usually a friendly smile.
The steam room at my university was small, with only enough room for 6 or 7 guys. When it was busy, you were touching the guy next to you. That often resulted in arousal, and no one seemed concerned. If there was interest you could ask or be asked to make a connection in a more private place. Even if that did not happen, it felt amazing to be there with other nude men.
I agree with you BeastieBud. When Im at in the bathhouse part of a Korean spa surrounded by several other males it does feel like my testosterone levels goes up. The Korean spas have gender separated locker rooms with a bathhouse in each. All in the bathhouse part of the locker room are required to be nude. It is family facility. In the male bathhouse which is in the male locker room you have males of all ages in there all nude. Sometimes some males do get an erection from time to time. It never seems to be anything to be concerned about, ashamed about and none should feel embarrassed about it. But also none should be trying to bring attention to oneself either. No one ever seems to care like it is no big deal or even seems to notice if someone gets an erection. I have gotten one before while in there when I first got there while taking a shower. It was like as soon as the water hit my body my penis began to grow erect. I continued with my shower and went on my normal way to then sit in a hot tub no stress no worries. Enjoying the nude male camaraderie and feeling the male energy around me. Being around other nude males does make me feel more alive and gives me a better overall mental health wellbeing feeling. Feeling more accepted and relaxed is good and healthy but also may cause a male to be more prone to have semi erection and or full erections. The Korean spa also offers full body scrub. I have had gotten them several times while going there. Every time I get a semi erection and many other men get them too when getting a body scrub. The scrub is done only behind a short wall so any males walking by in the bathhouse can see and watch them being done by an employee of the spa. They know many males will get an erection and are a natural thing when getting a full body scrub as well as if a male was getting a full body massage so no need for the staff member to say anything about it. It is like okay he got an erection so what keeps doing his job as if he never noticed the customer got an erection. We should have less worries about a normal male body function and relax more when ever being nude. I believe we should have less shame and be more accepting of our fellow males who are nude when getting an erection. It is best when males get together nude enjoy the fellowship, camaraderie and feel more connected with other males in the spirit of true brotherhood.
I got a semi when getting a body scrub. Didnt phase the guy working on me. Love being naked in their huge wet area.
I have been to a couple of bathhouses and was a great experience. But never been to a Spa that had other naked men. I wish I new about the spa on the nudist cruise. A young friend took me there on the ship and I was amazed at how nice it was. Plus the attention I had from him.
Beastie and BillyBare are right on. Everyone has different reactions to being nude and sometimes that rush of endorphins and joy at being free of clothing results of an erection. I have chatted to many people who all seem to agree that erections are natural and nothing to be ashamed of but also not something to be waved in others faces or forced upon anyone else who doesnt want to see them. I think most people with penises understand where those lines are and can read the room so to speak.
People who push the boundaries too far and make others uncomfortable, especially when in a spa where you should be entirely relaxed, make me really frustrated. How someones body reacts does not give you any permission to do anything to them or give you permission to go further or make a spectacle of yourself. If you do want to do more then use your words and organize it for somewhere that isn't public or is specifically designed to cater to that activity so you don't ruin the space for the rest of the patrons.

i am bringing a friend to his first naked party next week. he has something to say to the group but is nervous about speaking in public. i have assured him that it is much easier when everyone is naked. so we will see.
on a related note, i find that the total nudity of the korean spas enhances the camaraderie we might not otherwise feel. there is something about seeing, showing and sharing our penises that seems to put us all on the same level.

There seems to be an agreement in this thread which I share that nudity builds camaraderie. It might include erections which are nothing to be ashamed of. In my opinion we should be careful and avoid pronounced sexuality (included in the OP's title) and instead focus on ground rules and boundaries. I personally havent met a man who identifies as asexual, so if were all unique and beautiful sexual men, cant it be enough to be a man among respectful naked men? I believe thats how men have always been. When we split each other into silos based on our orientation as men, we become judging and fearful of each other. We all need to be cock proud as men despite our shape, size and affinities. Spas are a great place to remind ourselves of that.
