About Young Naturists Canada

Young Naturists Canada is a group of young people working to promote acceptance of nudity and naturism, and to encourage more of our fellow Canadians to shed their clothes and take part in nude-friendly activities across the country.We aim to:Promote a healthy and positive view of the naked human body, in all of its diversity.Seeing ourselves and each other in our naked, pure and natural state builds self-acceptance and positive body image. It empowers us to become more comfortable and confident in our own skin. It destroys the shame and insecurity caused by artificial, media-constructed, profit-motivated, socially enforced ideals of perfection. We are all the same, we are all unique, and we are all normal. Seeing and experiencing ordinary nakedness as a normal part of life can only be beneficial.Nakedness breaks down barriers and creates genuine unity between people. We are never more authentic, more true and more connected to one another than when we are naked. Nakedness is beautiful, it%u2019s positive, it'%uFFFD%uFFFDs physically and mentally liberating, it simply feels right, and it's for everyone.Normalize nudity, make it mainstream, and advocate for a more clothing optional world.The antiquated and dehumanizing taboo against the sight of our natural form is fading away. Opinion polls and actual experience consistently show that the vast majority of people aren'%uFFFD%uFFFDt bothered by simple nudity. Context is what matters, and most people are in fact sensible, tolerant, and even supportive of nudity in the right context. Across North America and Europe, the variety and popularity of naked-positive social events and activities are on the increase. These are signs of a progressive shift in society'%uFFFD%uFFFDs view of the naked human body.We think more Canadians should have the opportunity to see and to experience simple harmless natural nudity.Unfortunately the only nudity most of us ever see is that which objectifies and sexualizes the body and exploits it for profit. This breeds a deeply distorted and hostile attitude toward the human body, and it causes needless shame and anxiety when it comes to baring our completely normal and natural selves to our fellow human beings.We can change this by making simple nonsexual nudity ordinary, unremarkable, and commonplace. When that happens, our culture will begin to adopt a more realistic view of the naked human body.Bring about a renewed appreciation for our beautiful naked and natural human form, without shame, without fear.
