Black's Beach, America's most popular, is still an active nudist site in the state-owned portion. If visit, do your part to keep it that way by respecting the boundary signs and covering up if you're going beyond them.Nudity bans are enforced on the south end in the city-owned portion...

I SO want to visit the beach! I am very concerned about the climb out of there. I am old and out of shape.

I recently went down the road on the south end and the climb out was rough on me the first time for sure. I do walk some most every day but not up a canyon road like that. The third time I went down and up from the glider port and it seemed much easier. I am also old and out of my younger self's shape and I didn't die, but my legs sure let me know I have muscles I have not used in a while. Good luck, and enjoy the beach. I may be going down there again during the evening around the 21-24th of August depending on work schedules.

Blacks Beach was my true introduction to the Public Nudist lifestyle when I was 19 years old.

I moved away from California and have never been back and have often wondered if one still had to climb down.

Its disappointing to learn that one still has to do that.

That was 39 years ago!
