Best day/time to go to Hippie Hollow for my first ever skinny dip?

Return to Discussions

Hey, I'm a home nudist from San Antonio who is thinking about taking the plunge and heading up to Hippie Hollow this week. I'm thinking of either taking a 1/2 day at work this Thursday or going up Saturday morning. I know there will probably be people there Saturday, but what about a weekday afternoon?

RE: Best day/time to go to Hippie Hollow for my first ever skinny dip?

Well, I ended up getting here about 4, and I was nervous at first because the weather wasn't the best. It was cloudy (good because it wasn't so hot) but the wind was blowing really fiercely. I was afraid my chair would blow away so I put it back in the car.
It cleared up after a little while and I took a dip. The water felt great! You have to be a mountain goat to get in and out of the water but that's ok. I will definitely bring a float next time!
I swam a bit and then walked all the way to either end of the nude area. I can see myself coming up here at least once a month and alternating between swimming/floating and hiking the trail in the buff. Now that's some exercise I can get behind!
I already plan on coming back Saturday morning and staying until about noon. It's nice now but I imagine it's brutal during the 1 to 5 time frame. I also hope that there are more people. I have done the "head nod" and exchanged a pleasantly or two with a couple of people. I wish that I have a group of friends that I could invite here who wouldn't all just freak out about it being a clothing optional beach.
