North of San Francisco on CA 1 between Stinson Beach and Muir Beach Just north of mileage marker 11.0 and the entrance to the Steep Ravine Environmental CampgroundThere are two free parking lots, one on each side of the road. They are the only large parking lots in the vicinity. The 1/4 mile steep gravel path starts at the north end of the main parking lotRemember that whatever you carry down, you'll have to haul back up The path is fairly well-cleared, but watch out for poison oak
