no longer open to single males

I've been going to Turtle Lake for years (more times than I can count), and generally they've always told me 'no need to call ahead for tent camping; just show up!' So imagine my surprise when I drove down from Lansing and was turned away. I am an AANR member, so that wasn't the issue---they told me that their policy was now male/female couples only. So, this is just a word to the wise, so you don't go out of your way as I did, only to have to get back on the road and drive back.
FYI, Forrest Hills in Saranac always was, and is, very welcoming and open to single guys, and it looks like that's where all of us 'refugees' are going, based on my very fun stay there this past week.

RE:no longer open to single males

Its not TRUE. TLR doesnt turn away single men whatever that persons experience was their experience maybe they had a previous record of bad behavior somewhere.

I hope Turtle Lake resort will rethink the way, they handle those of us who are legitimate!

Until recently I have been going to TLR as a single guy for many years first as a camper then as a seasonal member. I have never had a problem. This past summer I met and talked with many single men there. i saw many of them in yoga class, at the pool playing volleyball etc.

If a single guy gets denied there is a reason not a policy change. Last summer there was a single guy who was propositioning women and he was kicked out and banned for life. Maybe folks dont want to see the reality because it makes them have to think about their behavior but there it is.
