The Story
This is Pooja, a female from Bangalore. I am 35 years old now. I got into nudism 8 years back, in 2015. I used to live in an apartment & had lot of friends there. There was a newly married couple from Kolkata & I was very friendly with that lady. I was not married then. I used to jam up in her house often. One day when I went to see her, I caught her nude when she was alone! She did not panic and she was cool. Since I saw her nude, she started talking about it. She told she loves to be nude when alone, and she was doing this from long time. I also understood that she hasnt spoken about this to her husband, as she did not know how he will perceive it. Since I did not talk anything against her lifestyle, she was more open to me. She said that it is a culture and many people do this in secret in her city. She told that in her hostel, group of girls used to spend time in nude regularly.
I came back home fascinated as I have never heard of something like this. After from then, whenever I go to her place in her husbands absence, she used to be nude in the comfort of my presence. I was also perfectly ok about that, and this continued for a while. And one day she asked me to try nudism, and I was very shy. But I was curious. Though I did not try that day, I tried in next few days. It was a tough decision to shed clothes in someone elses presence, but that paved a new way for me. I was naked along with her, and I had a feeling of being liberated. I felt very free and easy, and the skin breathing fresh air was a great experience. Days passed by and we spent a lot of time in nude together. Till then, for me, nudism means staying nude whenever I can. I had never thought of something beyond this.
Then one day her college friends visited her, and they all planned to get naked & I was invited. That was the first time I was a part of a gathering or a meet, and it went on for 3 or 4 hours. Again, I was shy to be nude in front of new people, but later I became very comfortable. They spoke a lot of nude groups, meet-ups, outdoor, abroad and so many nudism related topics. I came to know there are secret communities and even strangers meet in nude through these communities. I was surprised as I always felt it was risky and dangerous. They suggested me to join in a platform called MeetUp and told me that it is not compulsory to attend meetings. So, I joined a community called INM (Indian Naturist Members) to see what is happening in nudism world.
I was shocked to see close to 1000 members in the group and I started watching what they do. Meanwhile my apartment friend had more meetings at her place and I used to attend regularly. And another challenge came in my nudism journey. She said that she had invite some couple for the meet, and it means men will be a part of it! It is impossible for me to appear nude in front of a man, and I refused to attend. She gave me comfort and assured that I will be safe, but I was not willing. Then she gave an offer which I couldnt resist. She asked me to stay clothed, and I can strip only if I am willing. I agreed and the meeting happened. There were 3 couples, so total of 3 men and 5 women, and meeting started clothed. After an hour, there were people fully naked, half naked & fully dressed. The scene was a mixed scenario. But by the end of the meeting, all of us were nude and spent good time in food, TV and chatting. Yes! It was unbelievable that I was nude among unknown men. But it was actually safe. Genuine people. Genuine than whom we see clothed. No one will stare at us at wrong places, never touch each other and behave very decently. Overall, it was a very good experience for me, and I was not scared for such meetings anymore.
Then a sad day came in my life. Her husband got transferred and she left my apartment. I had no company in nudism. I started looking into the Meet-up community. I got in touch with the admin guy and he was very friendly. Regular chats introduced me to more people. I became a part of a whatsApp group of India, but from all cities. The admin allowed me to participate in few meetings, both men and women, and also in few women only meetings. I always had a good experience in all such meetings and never come across any trouble. Around three years passed by, and I was a known nudist in few circles. In 2018, the admin told me that an online magazine wanted to talk to few women nudists and I gladly agreed. I appeared nude for an interview, and shared my opinion. It was published and it is in circulation till now!
After few months, the admin told his inability to continue the responsibilities of Meetup group and offered me the admin rights. As I was not ready for that, I did not agree and things went quiet for long. I got married in 2019, and I understood why my Kolkata friend did not speak about her nudism lifestyle to her husband. There are chances that our husband might think that we were sexually active before wedding, being nudists. So, I also did not prefer to tell anything to my husband and starting leading a housewife life. And when a child was born, my pregnancy aftermaths were giving me an inferiority complex and I thought I cannot be good to be nude with this body. To be frank, I was out of nudism for good two years after marriage. And COVID also played a role as meetings stopped happening.
During some time in 2021, I again got an offer to take over INM meetup group, and I again refused. I told the admin about how miserable I feel to be nude with this body and he gave me confidence. I realized that nudism is beyond gender, colour, age, skin tone, shape, body structure etc and I saw how nudists in European and Australia continents live. Then I decided to stand up for all nudists, especially who are confined to themselves.
After few days of thought process, I took over the page and I became the admin of a long-lasting Indian Naturist Meetup group! By that time, we had 1800 members in that group. When I started to moderate that group, I understood few categories of people like genuine nudists, aspiring nudists and perverts.
So I started a Whatsapp group to filter people. Actually, two whatsapp groups. One for newbies, and another one for people whom I am comfortable with, like who had attended earlier meetups. Slowly when I start chatting, I will find their pulse. Some wants to show themselves nude, or talk sex etc and they will get blocked.
But I help genuine people who do not know much about nudism. I explain them what is exhibitionism vs nudism, and we dont seek thrill in nudism. We dont want others to see us naked, but we want to be naked. And the whatsapp group started growing well. I started conducting meet up again, and I used to moderate everything about a meeting. Recently we shifted from whatsapp to Telegram for privacy purpose.
We also have a guesthouse in the outskirts of the city where the Meetup admin will do all the arrangements for the meeting. I used to appear on video and welcome & encourage the attendees. So during these meetings, guys will gather, sit and chat in clothes for a while, and become naked. They will talk anything under the sun & have fun, and the meeting happens approximately for 2 hours. I dont join for meetings conducted for newbies, but I attend meetings with senior guys. I dont mind staying naked among other men, but I dont want men to attend meetings just to see me.
Now I can proudly say that I own one of the largest nudist group in India, with close to 70 members who had meet at least once in nude. Now I am planning to arrange nudist trip to Thailand for my members, and already we have gathered the interests. It is good if the group is of 8 to 10 members and Thailand is the best destination.
The trip will be for 5 nights and 6 days in Thailand, staying in nudist resorts and doing some activities in nude. It will cost approx. 70,000/- per head including airfare.
What happens in nude meets?
We stay clothed for a while, then get naked. We sit and chat, watch TV, movies, web series, make tea & popcorn, sometimes we cook biryani too. We do not encourage alcohol consumption during nude meets.
When we are going to get nude, everyone should leave their phones & all gadgets in a closed room and no digital devices are allowed in nude area. This is for the privacy and safety of everyone.
Everyone should put a towel and sit wherever they sit for hygiene purpose. Men can use the towel to hide their erections (if it happens) and to wipe their pre-cum.
No one should touch each other, or sit with skin contact to keep the other person comfortable.
It is perfectly like any other friends meeting we have, but in nude.

Outdoor Nudism In India
Though nudists regularly visit Gokarna beach for nudism, this is legally not allowed anywhere in India. Still people take a chance and risk themselves for being outdoor nudists, and they get naked in trekking routes, secluded forest areas, river side & lake sides, and in some isolated beaches.
Nudists in India
They are from everywhere, but larger groups exist in Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai. There are so many small groups and they might be in our known circle which we do not know.
Future of Nudism In India
Though India cannot be a nudist compatible nation in next 100 years, there can be private properties which can be declared as nudist resorts to take care of true nudists. But still, there are chances that perverts will come to see other people naked. Our society is far behind in accepting nudism as a lifestyle, and my personal opinion is not to pursue anything from authorities or Government. It is always better to stay as an indoor nudist and meet like-minded people & have a great time. Try outdoor nudism in safest places for few minutes like secluded beaches, and if you really want to break naked, visit cost effective nudism friendly countries.
