I have no problem with letting my children read Nude and Natural, Going Natural, or any other truly naturist/nudist publication. I would hesitate to let them look at Playboy or Penthouse. And the racier ones would be pretty much off-limits until, well, further notice.

However, a magazine store outside my immediate area has a different opinion. Last time I looked for Going Natural, I had to look in the porn section. If, in 2009, store owners still cant tell the difference between porn and simple nudity, we may not have come as far as we think.

When I looked in a store of the same name in the city where I live, the naturist magazines were put in the special alternative interest section, along with non-pornographic magazines aimed at gays and lesbians. At least they werent with the porn magazines. Id have to check again one of these days to see if this has changed.

To be fair, the store out of town had much more limited space and may have just lumped everything together for the sake of convenience. The store where I live has more space and can better categorise a large inventory. Still, its disappointing when after so many years the legitimacy of naturism/nudism continues to be in doubt by society at large. If that legitimacy wasnt in doubt, Going Natural would surely not be put in the porn section.
